first thing i would do is get your diet all together. look at the clean bulk 101 at the top of the nutrition section. that is the best diet i have ever been on. once you have that i would just say to start working out like you normally would. you will be sore the first week or two though so you might want to take it a little easy.

Yea you will definately be sore the first week or 2! I dont know about you guys, but i STILL get sore as F*** after a good workout. I am EXTREMELY sore right now from my upper body workout that i did yesterday. I assumed that i wouldnt get this sore the more i work out, but i still do.

I had to quit when my son was born 5 years ago...worked 3 jobs, etc. At age 41, I started again in March and within a month, muscle memory, or what ever you want to call it kicked in...I was benching 225 for 10 in no time. I've had some shoulder problems since but have made steady gains with consistant training and good diet/protein suppl. I benched 295 for 3 w/out a spotter the other day...am sure I can max at 315...I never benched this much before, but am not sure I stayed with the program for this long either...My advice, get back into it when you are ready and start out with 50%-70% max, higher reps and when ready go for the heavy stuff. Just like the article says in this months BN magazine, the only way you will get huge is to continually lift heavier and heavier weights...so your body doesn't get used to it...I think my arms were around 15 inches in March and are now at 17"...which I cannot believe.

It will hurt at first, but you will get used to it...I don't know about you guys but the "day after" pain is the only pain I don't mind... Get plenty of rest and don't over-train...GOOD LUCK!

definitely get back in the gym and start prepareing yourself for the intense workouts that will come in the near future. Don't over due it your first 2-3 weeks, or you'll sit around sore and won't be putting daily time in the gym, which i think is important if you are trying to get back into a consistant regiment.
