Ok well over in the Q & A thread for Universal/Animal, I had asked what kind of promo or logging opportuintes the BN members would like to see. Someone mentioned a contest, so here is what I came up with. This should be a fun way to start promos over here and yes there are supps involved.

What this contest is exactly:

I want to read about the most hardcore work out you have ever had in your life. I'm talking days you puked on yourself in the squat rack, or did deads until you literally collapsed on the floor. Be honest with these. If you did chest till you couldn't move tell me. Everyones hardcore is different so don't be shy post up what has brought about the most pain in your time training or write about the one work out that you almost quit in, but found it deep down to push through some how. I know all of us have had them at times. So all you have to do is tell me about your craziest most intense day of training.

I've done the puke squat thing a couple of times, actually. Not right in the rack, thankfully. But I had been doing a bunch of sets, not much rest at all between them. I was trying to push myself harder than normal because I always have the impression that my legs are probably lagging.

Anyway, after one of the later sets I was done and went to sit down on a nearby bench, thinking I was about to keel over, since my heart was pounding and and I was breathless. I thought I just need to rest for a few, get some water and I'll be fine.

So, I headed for the locker room, got some water and immediately knew it wasn't going to sit well. I went to a stall and was about to kneel so I could puke in the toilet. Instead i just let loose all OVER the toilet....LOL. The poor clean up guy must have been pissed later.

There was just no holding it back and I think my body was just saying "Enough w/ the squats!!!" I can remember coming back out trying to play it cool, but apparently it was obvious the way my eyes were bugged out and watery, etc. My gf was there w/ me that day and took one look at me and said "WTF....did you just get sick in there???". I guess she couldn't relate to the "squat til you puke" saying...LOL.

I supersetted biceps and triceps once, that was as hardcore as my body could handle.

i did a full body workout squats/deads/bench/handstand pushups/ barbell rows/ all 3 sets and ended with 3 drops and static holds or rest pauses. then supersetted tris bis and calves.. i was light headed for ABOUT 30 mins after and felt nasueos

I got another good one from back when I was like 15. This was in the days of "mega packs" when a lot of supps. came in the little packs that you'd take pre, post, etc. So, before one workout, I had down a pack and then also took several other things...amino caps, herbs, this and that and headed for the gym.

I suppose I didn't drink enough water because at one point between sets, i burped and it cause a big puff of "smoke" to shoot out of my mouth. it was just that I had a ton of powder in my stomach from all those caps and not enough water to disperse it all.

I can remember ppl staring at me like what the hell??? I musta looked like some kind of supplement dragon! That might have looked slightly hardcore.

I guess ill be honest and post probably my hardest workout. Me and a buddy from college decided one leg day we would do squats and only squats for leg day. We decided we would do 15 sets of 10 reps and get down as deep as we could go. We warmed up with 135 for 1 or 2 sets.. then put 225 on the bar and began our 15 sets. We stayed at 225 for the entire 15 sets. I started out then as soon as I was done he got under the bar and began repping his reps out. We would take 1-2 min breaks between sets. By set 7 or 8 I started to hate when I heard him re rack the weight because I knew I was up next. When we got to sets 14-15 I honestly wanted to pass out. The zone I was in was unlike anything else I have experienced. I almost felt like I wasn't in my own body. My legs and ass were so pumped they were throbbing. We managed to complete our leg day and all was fine til the next day when I woke up. I couldn't walk the next day or the day after. I couldn't sit down without pain. I even skipped my Monday classes because I knew I couldn't walk to class. People have probably done this many many times before us and its probably easy to someone who is well trained. It was just an accomplishment for me because as most of you guys know I'm an below the knee amputee.

ok picture it. I pull up to the gym blasting Phil Colins. (in the air tonight)

I step out with my Affliction Tshirt and matching Durag.

I kick open the gym doors and the music stops. everyone turns and stares.

I put on my Belt and proceed to head over to the smith machine.

There was some Noob on the machine but i told him to scram. I wiped the bench down with anti bacterial Purell and i sanitize that bitch, hardcore style!

Then i load that fucker up. Eight 45 plates. I make sure the safety latches are working properly and i turn on my mp3 player. Its phil colins again.

Then i pace back and forth so everyone can see me. I start slapping my chest and mumbling obscenities to myself. FUCK YA!

Then i slide under the bar carefully because the seat was still wet from all the purell. Im ready Son!!!!!

I bang out 2 reps with a 4 inch rom and scream as loud as i can with each "rep"

BAM!

Everyone is smiling and some people are laughing and pointing cause theyre all impressed. i give everyone a thumbs up and moonwalk to the lockers.

BEST.WORKOUT.EVER!

Pretty impressive. I do 8X8 and occasionally 10X10 on certain exercises, so I know how demanding that can be w/ the last few sets. Good stuff for getting insane pumps. How do you end up safely squatting w/ the amputation, though. I figured maybe you had to just do unilateral leg exercises on machines, etc.

I squat the way everyone else squats. My amputation is below the knee.. So i still have my knee which is a blessing! I see the ones who lose their legs above the knee and to me they have it so much harder than I do.

Well i might as well jump in- also this is no BS i think Javy is close enough to come and witness a shoulder day with me.

It was a shoulder day, i started out with a warm up on BD should presses with 60's for 20 reps, next set was 80's for 15, then 90's for 10, then 100's for 8, then i decided if 100's were that easy i was going to do 110's for 6, well i only got 4 for that set. Next i moved on to DB lateral raises, 25's for 15, 35's for 12, 40's for 10, and then 50's for 8. Then i moved on to hiting rear delts, i sat down on a bench and bent forward till my stomach was ontop of my quads and did reverse flys, first was 35s for 12, then 40's for 12, then 50's for 10. By this time, i hadnt noticed but i had start to develop alot of bruising on my shoulders and my wife and a friend pointed it out. I had the biggest pump ive ever had in my shoulders. Then i went to front DB raises 35's for 10, 45's for 10, 50's for 8, and 50's again for 8. By this time i was feeling pretty burnt out but i love to kill shoulder, ive lost a workout partner from a injury he got on a shoulder day, so i went to the smith machine for behind the head military press. I pulled up a upright bench and slaped on 45's for each side, i hit 15 for the first set, so i added 25's to each side. The next set was for 12, and i took the 25's and replaced them with another set of 45's, so thats like 90lbs on each side( i dont think the bar adds wieght witha smith machine). SO my last set i hit for 8 reps. Well i didnt throw up or any thing but i did end up going hypo by the time i got home. I pass out in the kitchen when getting my shake ready, and woke up to my wife pouring MT Dew in my face trying to get it in my mouth. That so far has been about the craziest day ive had, ended up with a bumb on the head and a bunch of poped blood vessels in my shoulders. But since i just had surgery im proly not going to be having any more hardcore workout days, so im going to work smarter and not harder.

Back in my old highschool peanut butter protein days, I had a key to the weightroom because I worked there during the summers. I would always go workout around midnight every night because that was the only time I could seriously crank up the metal in the "Dungeon." Since I worked out so late, I never had a workout partner. We also didn't have clips for our bars either (tiny school). It was chest night for me, and of course being a high school hot shot, I had to get a max in somewhere that night. I did several sets on benchpress (probably around five or so sets) with an incredible 215lbs! The last set was shaky, but I was the man! laugh.gif So I went ahead and slapped 275 on the bar and proceeded to get to business (after finding a good song of course). I pushed 275 over my head with shaky arms and slowly lowered it to my chest. Got to my usual sticking point about 6 inches from my chest, and suddenly my right arm pushes up farther than my left arm could. All the weights on the left side of the bar slid to the floor which then caused the right side to plummet. In the process, the bar slammed into my face and pushed my nose to my ear. My workout was cut short, but I'd call that hardcore.

If you're speaking of "ever had", then I got a few to remember, not sure what is "considered hardcore" though:D

1) Riot bombing on arms using barbell curls and french presses, then followed up by suppersetting pressdowns and seated dumbbell in 15-20-25 method!!! BRUTAL!!

2) Chest workout, started out with a superset of flat db press and flat db flys doing ten supersets of 10, then finished up by a superset of pec dec and incline cable crossovers 4x using 8/12 rep scheme and static holds at the end

3) Heavy back and chest: Alternated pecs and back exercises in heavy poundages. More brutal than it sound, WAY MORE!!! Used BB press/deads, incline db/pulldowns, decline machine/bent over rows, then finished up with 4 sets of pullovers. Implemented 5x5, 3x6, and 5-4-3-2-1... this workout was the bomb guys I swear 72 hours of serious DOMS in chest, back, serratus and slightly abs and legs!!

It was like no ordinary day. The minute i woke up I knew I was going to kill it in the gym. I woke up and looked at myself in the mirror and growled at myself, then I did the backwards dragon like in Starsky and Hutch. I brushed my teeth with rage and spit out a bloody paste. I yelled at my dog, until i found out i didnt have one. Who the hell did i yell at? I took the BSN stack and I just turned into an animal. I logged on the net and looked at bodybuilding videos to get me pumped up. I was watching ronnie coleman and when i saw his huge glutes I just jumped up and grabbed my keys and left in my volksawagon pasat. I was in the zone. I was doing 45 on a 25 and when i was at the stoplight I mugged anyone who looked at me. When i finally got to the gym the bsn stack was at its peak, i grabbed my gym bag and walked right to the weight room with a mean look on my face. I started out with reverse wrist curls in the only squat rack in teh gym (i had the "strap" on). I was killing it getting PRs and threw the 40 lb straight bar like it was nothing. I went on to do lat pulldowns and had to put on my gloves and again i killed it getting PR's. I was screaming and grunting, It was like i wasnt even human. IT was like this for the whole workout. Then i finished my insane workout with dumbell tri kickbacks. I was leaving the gym with a huge pump in my arms and then I noticed some kid come up to me while i was leaving and took out one of my earphones. "whats up kid" i said. He says, "hey you forgot your belt", as he gives me my fizogen "strap". I gave him a half smile and while he was walking away, i tell him "kid, take this", I throw him the strap and hope one day he will fulfill what i have accomplished with the strap.

three word escalating density trainning super set two antagonistic muscle groups example hardest one peck deck followed by deadlifts done back to back for 15 minutes.

Well, I really have nothing too hardcore to contribute...and know I wont wint any contest with what I'm about to write, but there is this one leg day in particular that I am not too fond of...

I like to eat about 20-30 minutes before I train...then either use a pre/intra bcaa/creatine/stim type of drink to sip on before and while I train...

This actually happened just this past summer...the gym I goto is in the basement of an old hockey arena...there is very little ventilation, pretty much all that circulates the air around the room is a couple of celing fans that seem to be stuck on the slowest setting possible...it sucked, particularly on leg days when you need oxygen...I'm pretty sure you know where this is going.

Well to make a long story short, I was doing legs, warmed up with some legpress then moved on to the meat of my workout: breathing squats: 20 reps with 80% orm. Got stuck somewhere under the bar around #18 and as I lowered it down to the safety, the pressure on my gut forced a good sized dollop of thick pasty vomit up my esophagus and into my mouth...at this point i was starting to see stars and i could feel the beads of cold sweat gathering across my forehead and brow...I knew this feeling, I was about to pass the fuck out!!! Not only did a vomit inside my mouth...I was also going to pass out!!! I refrained from standing up right away, and at the same time panicked and thought that if i did pass out, i ran the risk of drowning in a mouthfull of vomit...so to play it safe I chugged back the mouthful of vomit and laid back on the cold concrete until I felt good enough to get back up and finish what I started. I laid there for a good 10 minutes, enjoying what little amounts of oxygen were available in this dingy basement gym; a few other people who were training there that day came and checked up on me from time to time...one dude even cleared my weight from the bar and worked in for a couple of sets, being a complete douche and not even returning my orginal weight to it...only taking the time to say 'looks like your done eh buddy?'

"NO IM NOT DONE. IM NOT FUCKING DONE"

I was pretty cheezed at this point. I loaded the bar up to my ORM and figured that I had done 18 reps with 80% I should at least be able to nail one more rep with 100% and go home...well anyways I got under the bar, going only on pure adrenaline, I descended slowly until I could feel my hams touch calf...got real low, and pushed out not 1 but 2, yes 2 more reps...I was quiet, didn't yell or scream. It just seemed too easy...I figured i would hang around and see if I could add a quarter to each side and nail a new pr...

FUCK NO!

...no less than 30 seconds after re-racking the weight my stomach just pushes the dreaded chicken breast/rice/avocado/greenbean paste back up my esophagus and out into my hands like some type of volcanic eruption...there is a good amount of well digested guacamole-looking stuff sitting in my hands...I think to myself, I already swallowed this shit just a few mins ago, and it dont look *that* bad...would it be so bad to eat it again? One part of me wanted to eat it again, and the other was gagging at the thought. I took the high road and decided to at least give it a taste before throwing it away. Hrmm...it not too bad, , so I stuffed another handfull back into my mouth and just threw the rest away...I felt a lil disgusted with myself so I bought myself a double quad on lettuce, washed it down with a full serving of gainer in 3% milk. Held that down pretty good, went to bed...felt better about things, and life in general.

no really...it wasn't that bad at all. kind of tasteless, im actually glad I didn't use any seasoning that day...its the smell of spices (especially garlic) mixed with bile that make vomit unattractive to re-consume.

There are some very good reads in here. They are a far cry from the boring ass cases and statutes I have to read for class...

Some very good reads and serious work being put in at the gym in here... It made it hard to decide what two to pick as winners. I guess thats the fun in these contests though.

Chris, I agree w/ LM here. Even though you've accepted the hand you were dealt and make the most of it, there are plenty of guys that would just give up and feel sorry for themselves, not squat their asses off. I think it's pretty inspiring.

PF, major props to the hardcore nature of eating your own damn puke and not losing any protein...lol. I don't think I could do that, but it's definitely extreme, so you earned that win.

Will you guys be running logs of this stuff? That might be cool to check out if you do. Thanks again to Animal for running a fun and interesting contest at BN. We appreciate your presence and activity. It's really livened the place up, especially w/ these stories. All I can say now is what's next and how are you gonna top this event?!

Thanks Josh...I never really even thought about it, I guess the whole nearly passing out and thinking I was gonna die thing released some adrenalin/endorphins and i was thrust into survival mode...just a note after i got back to the car I popped in a stick of trident cuz i had some weird ass bulk bcaa-chemo-vomit type aftertaste lingering...

I'll def'n post feedback (if they send it to me), but wont necessarily keep a day to day log...they seem like straight forward staple type supps...nothing groundbreaking or out of the ordinary from what I'm already using for pre/post/intra - just the str8 goods, probably taste a helluva lot better than the homebrew stuff i make with bulk powders tongue.gif

As for the shipping. They don't send info out on it, but it usually ships quick. Depending on how far you are form NJ will determine how quikcly you get your products. It takes me 2 to 3 days to get things from them in VA. I typically don't know when they recieve information from promos I run, just that everyone I have given free product get it fairly quickly.

Chris I know they got your info, because it was recieved the same day I found out we could not ship to PF.

DT... I will check in and see. If you sent it in over the weekend, they will most likely get to it on Monday and ship sometime shortly after that.

Well, i called UPS and Universal sent my pack to the wrong address, they sent it to 109 Jenny Lane, thats 8 miles from where i live. I plugged the addy into my GPS and went there. Some tall skinny black dude answered the door, and i asked him if he got a package from ups, he said maybe and asked what was in it, i said some supplements, this douche asked if it was some shock therapy and torrent stuff, i said yes. He smiled and said nope, so i started cussing him cuz he obviously has it since he knew exactly wat was in it. Words were exchanged and then he pushed me. So i grabbed a half empty glass that was sitting on the ledge out side and smashed it against the side of his face, he went down and i saw his mom pick up the phone, though the door way, so i hauled ass out of there in case she was calling the cops.

I know i over reacted a little bit, but the guy opened a pack that wasnt addressed to him and then told me exactly wat was in it, then said he aint got it. I hate thieves with a passion. Now im really glad i parked a block away, im not sure if they saw my car, if im not on for a while then yall know i got caught.

Sorry Little Man but i wont be able to do the log i wanted too, but I still appriecate the fact that yall chose me. In my defence Universal sent it to the wrong place, they had my correct address and didnt send it there.

The first day I tried pyritinol, epistane, and creatine together. I don't know what was so special about that day, but it's the only time I stopped working out not because I got tired, but because I got bored. I did nearly triple the reps I normally do and was there for like 3 hours haha.

my name was on the pack, not a biggie there are lots of people with my name running around base, and it was the wrong address, hence the reason i didnt get it. It was a shipping error on Universals part.

Also, let some one come to my house to start some shit, everyone in my unit calls my garage the Armory. Ive got enough weaponry and ammo to take out a 3rd world country, all registered with pmo of course, but i would welcome the challange.

had a bad accident years back.... I was squating 155lbs and felt a pop at the bottom of my rep. I smelled something awful and saw my colon on the floor. I stayed calm and just shoved it back in. It happens time to time and is common in weight lifters, its just not talked about much.

So I know I have a hardcore day in the gym when I have to shove my colon back into my body. It just happened last week.... aaaagain mad.gif

I will see what I can do about the Shaker Cup Promo. We did that one when they first came out, but before I was over here. They had a slight problem with the tops which has been resolved and they are much better now. So, let me work on that and see how many I can get approved to give away and we may have 2 promos going.
