I am having surgery in a week and wanted to pick up a supplment or two to help with my recovery/and repair and refresh my muscles while taking some time off from the gym. I was thinking maybe some glutamine and creatine?? I know there are some better supps to help with my goals during this rest and repair period...Let me know what u bros thinks...thanks for any help

I'd go with what you mentioned plus some Fish Oil like Barlean's. Don't need anything too far out there.

Fish oil may not be a good idea as it could lengthen the amount of time prior to recovery.

Past studies done on patients with severe trauma indicate the best way to speed recovery and minimize learn muscle wasting includes:

-Extremely high amounts of vitamin C - 20 grams or so
-Branch chain amino's
-Glutamine

If you ask, your surgeon will tell you to lay off the fish oil for a few weeks prior to surgery due to its effects on platelet aggregation.

Just keep in mind the simple fact that fish oil (omega 3's) are anti-inflammatories, which by nature, will prevent some necessary inflammation/recuperation.

Thanks for the help bro i cut the fish oil out yest after hearing from ya..im gonna up my protein intake by a shake and maybe even add in some carbs

True story. I had surgery in early March and they advised me to sty off fish oil for a week or so prior for this reason. C is well known for its wound healing ability, as is E.
