just sold my car got some good money now, looking for views/opinions on what you think. Looking at 4cyl turbo's, options that im looking at are SRT-4, Civic SI, GTI 1.8T and WRX's. Anyone who knows anything about these, let me know what you think. Or other suggestions.

Get something that's economical and doesn't hurt the environment, because that's the most important topic on this planet right now.

Go green!

I have a friend who has the GTI 1.8T and he loves it.

GTI or WRX, those other 2 are for faggots and chicks.

I've got a VR6 Turbo. Good shit.... dubbs interior is much better than a WRX. Although you won't have AWD. Just depends on what matters most? I prefer to have the better looking car. If you mod the WRX your tranny will have problems at over 350whp. If you plan to mod.... I might suggest the STI.

Did someone suggest a VW? huh.gif

I've never seen the point of having a powerful car that is FWD (drives like shit) so I would have to vote WRX.

Also because I had an STi a couple years ago and it was a good car.

There are tons of cars out there now getting 30+, people seem to think its those little ones that are the only way to go. Im currently saving for an accord. Not necc new, but 98+, nice cars, nice rides, and great on gas...and I said the WRX is one badass car, though the gas isnt as good as others.

id get a prius. my dad drives one and he loves it, gets close to 50mpg too. i know its not the "coolest" car but there comes a point in time when u stop worrying about how fast or how cool your car is. i know youre young and youre really into nice cars but i think you should get something like a prius which would be an investment with the way gas prices are steadily climbing. worry about a nice car later in life when you are more financially stable. i already learned from my mistakes.....

Yeah exactly, I mean I have my limits, and wouldnt drive a prius..Hidious loking imo, but I drive a 93 accord, its in awesome shape as I bought it off some old geezer. But its no chick magnet but gets 35mpg, and thats all I care about.

How much does a Prius go for?

Doesn't it take years for you to recoup the extra cost with the better gas mileage?

It does, I had discussed this with someone on here before. Prob Roids. But at the rate things are goin, its prob worth it.

True if your current car gets 12mpg.

But for those that drive normal cars that get 20-30mpg it's probably not worth it.

Well that was a point made, is it worth buying one paying the hefty price tag, or buy an older used car that still gets 30+

It all comes down to money anyway. Do you really think the guy that owns a Hummer H2 is affected by the price of gas going up a couple $ a gallon?

I highly doubt the extra $200 a month is going to send him to the poorhouse.

Just cause one has a nice car, doesnt mean they can afford it. Some people put their expenses on the limit buying a nice car...so the gas could be a killer.

I can't beleive you are having trouble choosing between those cars
WRX hands down
turbo, AWD, awesome styling, 4 door, roomy, and it has some serious BALLS

I don't know personally, but I have heard subaru's are a reliable vehicle
the only other car there somewhat comparable wuld be the V-DUB
but... common
those repairs bills are going to eat you alive eventually

2004 Nissan Sentra SER spec -v, they get good gas milage they don't look bad, they are pretty peppy and you can mod the heck out of them and they are pretty cheap to buy, like between $6,000-12,000.

My prelude recently broke down so i bought a bicycle to travel back and fourth to school and the gym until my car gets fixed. But the Nissan did cross my mind, but I don't want a car payment.

My wife drives a 1995 Infinity J30 with 103,000 miles on that bitch. I have a 2001 Ford Expedition XLT. Both run like friggin' tops, but hers gets about 25mpg while mine gets around 13mpg. Literally, the only thing I like about mine is that it's paid for. Other than that, it blows to pay $100 to fill it up every week.

so your paying $5,200 a year for gas. Lets say you get a hybrid and get 3x the mpg so your only paying $1,800 a year. So your saving about $3,400 a year. Worth shelling the money out for a new hybrid? maybe not, but it makes you think.

Posted by: Roids1 Jul 23 2008, 08:29 PM
I don't know if it'd be worth having a car payment of $450ish a month just to save a few $ on gas. Also, hybrids are expensive compared to plain ole gas guzzlers. Once this fukker wears out though, my next car will prolly be a hybrid. Of course, be then, hopefully Obama will have our cars running on bacteria excriment.

Posted by: Regulator Jul 23 2008, 08:33 PM
I agree with that but im def considering trading in my suv for little car, the only thing holding me back is 4wd is really handy here in the winter.

Posted by: Roids1 Jul 23 2008, 08:36 PM
Where do you stay at?

Posted by: Regulator Jul 23 2008, 08:39 PM
just PA but with work and school im always driving in all conditions, plus they dont do the best job on the roads around here. its only a couple of months a year so im considering a awd car

Posted by: Roids1 Jul 23 2008, 08:42 PM
I see. I don't have to deal with snow down here in Bammer. We have a heavy snow storm about once every 15 years. Whenever snow is predicted, everyone runs to the grocery store and buys milk and bread and shit and we end up getting like half an inch, which melts by the afternoon. I couldn't imagine having to deal with that shit every year.

The Chevy Cobalt SS is supercharged, its nice but IMO its a girls car. Its kinda like the new cavalier to me.

RX8 is a no go for me

Maybe a Hybird, idk perhaps i havent really looked into them to tell you the truth

WRX.......not to much diff from a SRT just the AWD

R32 is out of my price range, altho its a badass ride

I dont think the SI is girly, or the SRT. I like there new bodystyles, plus they're both real solid on gas.

Im goin from a 8cyl to 4cyl so things are gna be much btr....
