I have recently joined a gym here in Philly which I really like and this morning took a Boot Camp style class which I also really enjoyed and am considering joining. The Boot Camp Class is obviously great cardio along with bodyweight, high-rep, and static moves. This class is at 6am (morning person so no issue there). Question is...if I do the class in the morning, should I train the same bodypart around 5pm with weights or focus on a different part???

Here is the Boot Camp Class Schedule:

Monday - Lower Body
Tuesday - Upper Body
Wednesday - Cardio
Thursday - Lower Body
Friday - Upper Body
Saturday - Cardio
Sunday - Off

Current goal is lean muscle mass gain. So, how should my evenings look? Thanks ahead of time.

If you have the energy go for it.

I highly doubt that the boot camp training is geared towards muscle gain so you could do heavy compound lifting in the evenings.

True, seems more towards getting women into "tone" shape and fatloss. But, it's a pretty good workout and good cardio. I push a little harder myself and the instructor pushes me a little extra as well.

why stop there? you could attend Spinning classes and then Pilates. But you'll need to buy a nice tight pair of spandex shorts with a cute little blouse to go with it. you could tie the blouse into a knot in the front and sport a matching terry-cloth headband with it.

I hope some jacked bodybuilder beats your ass as you stroll out of your Tae Bo class.

Can't you just feel the love and support for fellow lifters. It's so positive and reassuring...

Though I don't agree w/ the tone, I agree with the message... Scalato, GTFO of that va jay jay class. Unless you are doing it strictly for cardio/fat burning purposes, it will not serve your goal of lean mass gains. And, you'll have to eat even more just to replace those calories burned.

I hear ya Shakes. I know it's not going to put any sort of muscle on me whatsoever but it will help with cardio and endurance. It's a surefire way to get my cardio in first thing in the morning, rev up the fat-burning metabolism, and a great way to warm up the muscles I'll be working out later that day.

And yes, being the ONLY guy in there is very advantageous smile.gif

You must concern yourself with one of two things 1.) gaining lean mass or 2.) losing fat. You can't do both (without 'help'). wink.gif
