Here is one of the top 77kg class lifters

Posted by: Arnoldclone Jun 26 2008, 11:49 AM
Ummm...no one didnt?

Posted by: azfittrainer Jun 26 2008, 11:58 AM
A few people on here have, or atleast insinuated that it is inferior to bodybuilding in many ways for putting on mass, and being lean.

Well those same idiots should look at sprinting. Some sprinters have more complete bodybuilder type bodies to them than most on here.

Posted by: azfittrainer Jun 26 2008, 12:11 PM
Many sprinters, gymnasts have very complete well balanced physiques, that often exceed many amatuer bb'rs.

Posted by: Chris25533 Jun 26 2008, 12:20 PM
The guy is in good shape none the less.. A lot has to do with genetics too. I'm willing to bet he has a super fast metabolism which keeps him lean all year long

Posted by: Jayv24 Jun 26 2008, 12:25 PM
edit. my bad.

Posted by: azfittrainer Jun 26 2008, 12:25 PM
Probably. Also it's pretty hard to not be fairly lean due to the amount of training them, and all elite athletes do. A typical world class WL'r will lift twice a day 5-6 days a week, each session an hour to 2 hours in duration, plus they will do plyometrics, and sprint training usually. They typically are training 15-25 hours a week, every week. At that level of caloric expenditure, it's difficult to not be lean. I have a friend who trained at the Olympic Training Center (OTC) as part of the US WL team. While there his diet was typically between 5,000 and 7,000 calories a day while competing at a body of 77-80 kgs (170-176lbs).

Posted by: Chris25533 Jun 26 2008, 12:30 PM
Yeah no doubt is their training hard and the amount of calories they have to eat is unbelieveable. Do you personally know this guy or were you just trying to make a statement? When guys say things on the board you dont need to take it so personal to go and prove them wrong, cause most people on here have no idea whats going on.

Posted by: azfittrainer Jun 26 2008, 12:41 PM
I wouldn't call him a friend exactly, more an aqcuantance, but yes I know him. He used to train with a former training partner of mine. His best lift totals in the 77kg class are 130kgs in the Snatch, and 150kgs in the C&J. He's unbeilevably quick and explosive, he can jump onto a 55inch platform with ease, and he's only about 5'8"

Posted by: Big_Ben Jun 26 2008, 01:51 PM
Is the guy natural?

Thats a sick ass vein in his right quad, thats for sure!

Posted by: azfittrainer Jun 26 2008, 02:04 PM
As far as I know he is. The IOC has the most rigorous anti doping policy of any sporting body. That doesn't mean everyone is totally clean (Marion Jones, Tim Montgomery, etc) but unless they do designer drugs it's alot harder for these guys to run AAS and not get busted. The tests are done randomly, and it's blood, and urine samples.

EPO is hard to test for, but it won't help you snatch 150kg's.

Sounds like some very interesting stuff.

The researchers were primarily interested in learning whether the young men's athletic performance improved — it did, and markedly so. At maximum effort, the men's performances improved by 9 to 16 percent. But at a slightly lower level of exertion, performance improved by 50 percent, Lundby said. Athletes taking EPO can go 50 percent longer at that somewhat lower level of effort, which can make a major difference in an endurance event like the Tour de France or a marathon, Lundby said

How tall is that dude, them are some deisel legs, but hes gotta be mad short.

if you read the entire article in pertains to testosterone also...but actually I'd be interested to know if EPO would actually help with lifts. Yes I know that EPO is primarily used for endurance sports and the snatch is anaerobic...who knows.

Posted by: azfittrainer Jun 26 2008, 07:18 PM
It will probably help some, but yes, EPO is primarily used by endurance athletes. Like I said, no anti doping program is going to catch every coper, but the IOC does a better job than any other organization. If you dope long enough, the IOC will probably catch you, just ask Marion Jones and Tim Montgomery

damn that guys got some WHEELS on him... i wish i had some like that.

Posted by: goodskie Jun 26 2008, 10:11 PM
it is inferior to putting on size to body building. that's why bodybuilders train differently.

but obviously you can get jacked as fuck doing what he does. a lot of bodybuilders want to be much bigger tho.

and a lot of bodybuilders can't get in the shape he's in.

Posted by: AdamGrossman Jun 26 2008, 10:27 PM
He has a decent sized crotch bulge too. How come none of you guys commented on that? That's what I noticed first...

It's inferior when utilizing AAS/ and GH. But I'm willing to be if you put him on stage in an amatuer show, he'd probably place, or win.

Most of the middleweight guys are pretty ripped. The heavyweight and superheavyweight guys sometimes are pretty tubby.

Posted by: Big_Ben Jun 27 2008, 03:30 PM
Did anyone answer the height on that guy question?

Posted by: goodskie Jun 27 2008, 03:39 PM
azfit said hes 5'8ish

Posted by: azfittrainer Jun 27 2008, 03:44 PM
I think so, but I'm not sure. He might be a little shorter. Heres a video of him C&J 205kgs (451lbs)

Posted by: willpiazza31 Jun 27 2008, 04:16 PM

Posted by: accent115 Jun 27 2008, 07:54 PM
I said it.

Posted by: JW32Hoops Jun 27 2008, 08:26 PM
Dude is ripped. Probably burns a shit ton of calories during his workouts, does cardio and eats super clean.

Can't quite get comfortable or routine with most WL lifts yet, but I've been doing Clean-to-OHP lately, and love it.

Posted by: azfittrainer Jun 27 2008, 10:37 PM
Actually other than maybe some low level cycling for recovery, those guys do zero cardio.

Posted by: goodskie Jun 27 2008, 11:43 PM
I bet their diets aren't that clean either. for how much training they do, they're going to need some dirty food to get enough cals to keep/build muscle

Posted by: azfittrainer Jun 28 2008, 12:07 AM
Some eat clean, mostly because they have to compete within a weight limit. The super heavy weights, both men and women, eat like heffers all day. I saw a guy at the OTC in Colorado Springs eat two large pizzas in one sitting.

"The federation took the action without waiting for the results of backup tests. It also said it was "theoretically possible" that the substance could have been ingested accidentally as part of a food supplement, or that the athletes' food could have been spiked."

Yeah, they were stupid. Like I said, they wont catch everyone, but if you do them long enough, odds are they will catch. Olympic athletes are probably the cleanest of all athletes, since they get tested so often.

Posted by: Arnoldclone Jun 30 2008, 12:31 PM
Scrubs is awesome lol
