Wouldn't raw benchers run the risk of getting hurt more? Especially once you're working with 600+lbs.

I don't think anyone wants that. It would be a short raw benching career.

Maybe that's why working with a shirt not only makes it more fun (progress a lot faster) but maybe limits the injury risk? I'm just guessing here. I know guys do get hurt benching with a shirt too.
