As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English! · My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours. · I think the police should have every right to shoot you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word 'freeze' or 'stop' in English, see the above lines. · I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business. · We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations. · I don't hate the rich I don't pity the poor · I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them. · I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building. · It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say 'NO!' · I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries! · I am sick of 'Political Correctness.' I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa ; so how can they be 'African-Americans'? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. Show me anywhere in the Constitution that says "English" is the official language of the United States. If he hasn't noticed, "English" is a fucking mutt language taken from various other languages in history... primarily Latin. --My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.-- I see no relevance here. Like "white Americans" don't have blood on their hands (American Indians, anyone?) --I think the police should have every right to shoot you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word 'freeze' or 'stop' in English, see the above lines-- I can't wait until his hearing aid fails and he gets popped in the back w/ a .40 cal. Fascism... marshal law... sounds great to me. |

If a person comes here to visit then I certainly wouldn't expect them to know the language. But if they are here to live and make a living then they should speak the language that the majority of the country speaks regardless if there is no written "official" language. I would never move to a foreign country with out already starting to learn the language and try to use their language when I'm living there. |

You may not, but our ancestors had no problem doing it. Do you think the settlers adopted any from of American Indian language(s)? Self-righteous and hypocritical. Nothing personal, Jason, but I find this type of attitude, which I'll admit I personally held for quite some time, very ignorant. |

I'm not my ancestors that raped this land. I'm not Ben either by the way.  I'm not as closed minded as you think. I'm living in a location where "American Bastardized" English is spoken, as you put it. Now if I moved back down to South Florida in the middle of little Havana I better know my Spanish. Down there the majority of the population is Hispanic and many signs are in Spanish only. When I lived down there I knew enough to get around and not get my ass kicked. Right there are the double standards and closed mindedness. But not by me. |

| Just a thought: The past two days, my friend Jorge and I have been speaking only in Spanish to each other so I could sharpen my skills when i have to talk to a Spanish speaking patient. Twice, I was asked by "older" people, "What is wrong with English?" i said, "Nothing is wrong with English, however, many people in the USA speak a variety of languages. That is what makes the USA what it is." Racism Most people are just fucking lame and mentally challenged. |

Call it what you want, but english is a language and it is the primary language spoken in the USA. All languages spoken today evolved from other languages. That doesn't make english (or "english" as you call it) any less relevant than any other. It is also a germanic language and has virtually no similarity to Latin whatsoever, other than some words derived frmo latin. Spanish, French, and Italian are derived directly from Latin. And, who doesn't have blood on their hands. I don't feel any guilt whatsoever that my ancestors were involved in wars. We just happened to be better at it than the natives, which is why we won this land. Every civilization on earth has been. Humans are imperfect creatures. Sorry, but I'm not carrying around a load of white guilt like so many are these days. |

You're not really doing anything "against" them, so why do you waste so much time? | I never said I hated the Islamic culture. I think it is, in general, a vile culture, but I don't have any desire to "have impact against" the culture (whatever the fuck that means). I wasn't trying to elevate my inherent aptitude to some level of self-forthritcheousness. |
