Lorken, are you saying you don't want change?? You don't want hope?? This is real change we can believe in! He's going to reform politics as we know it. He's going to get us back on the path to prosperity. He'll fight poverty, climate change, and solve our energy problems. He's just not going to bore us with the details, that's all. Otherwise, this is historic stuff that's taking place. Get on board man!!!

Touche'

If we were about 10 years down the road, I could prolly find more Obama contradictions. But, being so new and inexperienced, frankly there's not much out there.

Of course they all like him better than the elder deomcrat, McCain. That's because they know he cares more about what they think about us than about what's best for our country. If Hamas could vote, who do you think they'd vote for? Who do you think the Chinese would rather have? Iran?

That's only Social Security taxes, big fucking deal. I'm sure employers love that idea since they also have to pay the other 6.2% of the SS tax. laugh.gif

This guy is a fucking joke.

What candidate do you support Will? I thought you didn't care about politics and didn't research the subject or pay any attention to it. Are you a bigger fan of John McCain's economic plans? If so, why? Not breaking balls, just looking for info.

I'm not a fan of politics but the more I happen to stumble on this sanddem's proposals the more I cringe at the thought of him being president.

People around the globe widely expect the next American president to improve the country's policies toward the rest of the world

That's because the other countries want more handouts from the U.S. They say our economic condition is affecting other countries worldwide. When we're in a huge deficit, we can't hand the world our money so easily, thus their economic conditions decrease as well.

Honestly, I think both candidates suck a fat cock. I may not vote this November. I need to hear more from both sides.

By the way, to put taxes in a relative term. The lower 50% of taxpayers in this country pay the same amount of taxes to the federal government as does ExxonMobil. Just comes to put things in perspective as to how out of control corporate tax rates are in this country, along with government wasteful spending.

Roids, you're a comedic genius.  I'm not sure if I'll ever tire of your material.

Iran wasn't involved in that poll (if you read it) and Obama is only beating McCain by 5pts in China.

Barack to raise taxes on the rich in order to make tax cuts possible for the middle class.

I wasn't being totally facetious with that comment. I didn't read the article either, since the headline basically summed it up. My point is that since Europe tends to be very liberal, they'd obviously prefer the cadidate they perceive to be more like themselves. I also suspect other world leaders, the not so savory ones in particular, would perceive him as being the more naive of the two, thus easier to manipulate. Wouldn't you agree? wink.gif

I see it less as him being the more "naive" of the two, and more of him being the more willing to practice diplomacy, rather than refusing to talk, issuing threats, talking "tough" etc. But, the only people who could actually answer that question are leaders and citizens abroad.

My point is that since Europe tends to be very liberal...

While this may be true, it's starting to change. The countries realized their socialist "feel good" policies were starting to bankrupt the government, thus they had to keep raising taxes. Citizens couldn't bear the large tax increases, so they started moving out of their home countries and relocating to neighboring countries with lower tax rates. Well, a lot less people = less money for the government, so the people started to see the quality of life decrease, thus they started electing more conservative leaders, and have been ever since. Check out Germany, France, Italy, etc. They've been electing pro-U.S. leaders for a reason.

Oh, and why is it that if 95% of whites were to vote for Hillary over Obama, they would be deemed racists, but 98% of blacks voted for Obama, and the media didn't bat an eye?

J-Dub --

I have some important news that I want to make official.

I've chosen Joe Biden to be my running mate.

Joe and I will appear for the first time as running mates this afternoon in Springfield, Illinois -- the same place this campaign began more than 19 months ago.

I'm excited about hitting the campaign trail with Joe, but the two of us can't do this alone. We need your help to keep building this movement for change.

Please let Joe know that you're glad he's part of our team. Share your personal welcome note and we'll make sure he gets it:

http://my.barackobama.com/welcomejoe

Thanks for your support,

Barack

P.S. -- Make sure to turn on your TV at 2:00 p.m. Central Time to join us or watch online at http://www.BarackObama.com.
