I agree with this person. "As a recent college graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering - I can very safely say that the majority of college students have experimented or regularly use some type of illegal drug. Would anyone agree that the majority of college student should spend time behind bars?Locking up these people is not going to help anything. Period. If you honestly think that people are going to all of a sudden stop doing drugs because of this bust you are living in a fantasy world. People will do drugs whether they are legal or not. That's all there is to it - this is a fact. And I'm not saying that because I'm a drug user. The only drug I use is occasional alcohol. Yes, alcohol is a drug - and if you know anything about alcohol, it is a far more dangerous drug than marijuana. Cocaine can definitely be dangerous, and I would never use this type of drug - but others will choose to do this (whether it's legal or not!) and I do not believe I have the right to tell them what they can and cannot put into their own body. I do not own their body. I'm speaking out because I know it is wrong to incarcerate innocent people who just happen to prefer a different drug than what mommy government says is okay. All in favor of this bust - put down your beers you hypocrites! An engineering student I knew back in college chose to use marijuana because alcohol made him feel aggressive. He was BRILLIANT and he is currently serving 9 months in jail for possession. His life is absolutely ruined and he did not harm a soul. TELL ME THIS IS HELPING ANYONE. Tell me you would look this person in the eye, or look your SON in the eye, and say they have committed a terrible crime and should be forced to sit in a 8x8 block of concrete for nine months and stare at the walls. He will get out of jail and continue to use his drug of choice, and we tax payers will pay for his incarceration. I am disgusted by anyone who feels that THEIR morals should dictate the lives of others." - bethany0728 7:01 PM
HANDLEBARSI believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs. —Thomas Jefferson, 1802
