I think a lot of the economic problems ties back to the Iraq War and the War on Terror.

Our current Republican administration is fucking pathetic. I have never gotten a straight answer from a Republican who supports the Iraq War from the beginning. If you ask them why it was a good idea to go into Iraq, they say it's because he had terrorist ties and was going to kill us all.

You would have to be the most naive motherfucker in the world to think any country in the world would even attempt a military strike against the U.S. Because as soon as they do, it's Hiroshima all over again. That's why I don't understand all this obsessed talk about Iran. Sure, the guy has said some crazy shit, but he has no say militarily. The pussy can talk all he wants, but can't back up his words.

The economy has been great during the war, and shitty during it. You can't blame the war for the economy.

The TRILATERAL COMMISSION!

... decent vid. I'm not supporting any insinuated conspiracies in the vid, but it does explain monetary systems in an understandable way.

Money as Debt

You can sure as fuck blame it for the enormous national debt that continues to grow by billions each day as well as the increased instability in the mideast that has resulted. Nevermind that the conflict could still spiral out of control and involve other arab countries, causing an even greater committment and burden from the US. But at least we're takin' the fight to the terrorists!!!

Then how come for most of the year, the economy was humming along great? A strong Bull Market. I'm sure the mortgage meltdown hurt us alot more than the war. Bear/Stearns, didn't go bankrupt, becuase of debts in Iraq.

The credit crunch is being felt right here and now. The enormous debt and other rammifications of elective wars are felt more in the long run.

Get ready to pay $100+ to fill up your ride when Hussein gets in office and tries to make the ignorant masses happy by showing he's socking it to big oil with new windfall profit taxes, which you will be paying.

Or, your mom and dad will be paying. laugh.gif

i pay for my own gas but thanks for trying to be condescending...

and the iraq war has more to do with high gas prices than oil company profits...thank you Walker (i guess people go by their middle names now)

you make a lot of predictions, i don't remember any of them being right

He's right about the taxes issue. If Obama raises taxes on oil companies like he hopes to do, you think ExxonMobil is going to take it in the ass from the government? We already have the 2nd highest corporate tax rates in the world. ExxonMobil will pass those profit losses to the consumer.

People just don't understand that more government leads to higher prices for everyone. I've said it once, the Democratic party has done more harm to minorities and the poor than anyone else.

Don't believe me? Go read Jon Stossel's "Give Me a Break". Great book written in layman's terms. He used to be a liberal reporter, but eventually became a libertarian after doing research into the wasteful government spending that goes on in this country. I was a typical college left-wing liberal up until a couple years ago when I read that book. It completely changed my view on government.
