what is the point of doing a drop set? just do u can work past nervous faliure, and/or so u can do heavy reps and then drop and get the higher rep work also??

it makes your workout more intense and fatugues your muscle even more......i like to do it days i dont have a spotter since i cant really go to failure then

You can't work past neural failure, what your doing is pushing up your lactate threshold.

It's to shock the muscles, there's point in doing them if you've reached plateau. A drop set should really only be done at the end of an exercise and i wouldn't do it until my last exercise per muscle. Also, i wouldn't do them every workout/week. One drop set would be sufficient and you do it till failure.

i havent reached a platue i just wanted to try somthin different... so if im doin
ex:

flat BB bench
incline DB bench
cable cross over

do reg sets untill i get to my last set of cable crossovers or do a drop set on the last set of each exersize?

basically, but doing after each exercise will greatly fatigue you for your next exercise so i'd wait till cross overs.

I do a drop set with barlbell curls ( we got a rack from 10lbs-170lbs) of barbells. from 110- 10 in 10lb drops...it kills the arms hard...
