No amount or type of food can compare to the reparative effects of larges doses of
amino acids. That's my only counter to your statement. It's why I haven't bought many supp's as nothing I can eat will allow me to recover as fast as I do when dosing
amino acids. I'm not 250+ so I'm able to get the amount of
protein I need out of my regular (supersized) diet. And they're a lot cheaper/safer than vials.
