RPM/NeoVar comp cut

I have finally decided to do a full competition cut. I plan on entering an all natural bodybuilding competition and I wanted to do a test run cut to work out the kinks. I only want to enter when I feel confident I can win(I really hate losing). If this goes according to plan, then I will go ahead and enter a comp at the end of this cut. Of course I will take pictures and video of the comp.
Here is my starting stats:

Height: 6'1"
Weight: 221 lbs
Bodyfat: 9.8% (Bod Pod)

Measurements: (all cold)
Shoulders: 55.25"
Lats: 48"
Chest: 45"
Arms: 17.5"
Forearms: 14.75"
Waist: 32.5"
Calves: 16"
Thighs: 25.75"
Neck: 17.25"

A little about myself:
I work in the hospital as a registered nurse in the CTICU. We get fresh postops from any acrdiac or thoracic surgery like open hearts. I plan on going back to school to become a CRNA aka nurse anesthetist. It is very hard to get into a school but I have great grades and people who have worked on my floor have been accepted into school so my unit has a good reputation with CRNA schools.
Anyways, I work nights for 12 hours and sometimes I am unable to eat when I want to for obvious reasons but I try my best.

I will try to get pictures up eventually but I need a new camera. I will also periodically write a detailed list of my food intake.

A thought my bodyfat would be a little lower because I have a 6 pack but I guess people have told me that the Bod Pod usually reads higher than people expected.

If anybody has any questions or comments feel free to chime in.

I will start the stack tomorrow. This is my off day. Time to get shredded cool.gif

Good luck bro! I'm a week into my stack and thoroughly impressed with the strength increase and pumps so far!

4 RPM 45 minutes before working out
5 NeoVar immediately after workout

Comments:
I LOVE these products. The NeoVar makes me feel great for about an hour after taking it (I know that it is due to the Rhodiola Rosea). The RPM gave me energy unlike any other supplement I have ever taken. Usually I get a lot of energy at the beggining of the workout but then it goes away about halfway through the workout. This gave me energy the whole workout and it felt like I had more energy at the end, unbelievable. The only downside is that I crashed after my workout But I attribute that to lack of sleep (had people over and couldn't go to bed early mad.gif ). Strength and endurance were the same as always.

This is what my meals look like on workout days. I plan to cut the carbs next week. I am an extremely hard gainer and therefore have to eat a lot.

8:00
4 whole eggs, 4 egg whites, 1 cup of oatmeal.

10:30
1 and 1/2 cans of tuna, 1 cup of brown rice, tbsp of flaxseed oil

1:00
1 and 1/2 cans of tuna, 1 cup of brown rice

3:00
Workout

5:00
Waxy Maize and then 15 minutes later whey protein

6:15
8 ounce Chicken Breast, Bowl of Spaghetti with minimal sauce

9:00
8 ounce 96/4 lean beef, 1 cup of brown rice

11:00
Casein Protein, 1 and 1/2 tbsp of Flaxseed Oil

This comes out to approximately 350 grams protein, 310 grams of carbs, 120 grams of fat. 3720 Calories.

Forgot to mention that I was cramping really bad after my workout but I took some Taurine and it went away. I usually drink at least 1 and 1/2 gallons of water so its not from lack of water intake.

Very nice man! What show are you doing? Yeah, you will definitely have to cut those carbs down a little to trim up. No spaghetti precontest man, haha! A few less whole eggs too.

Train and diet hard. Let me know when you are thinking of coming in. Sooner the better. It is not the physique you possess, but rather the one you present. wink.gif

Not quite sure which show I am going to do yet or even if I am going to do one. If this cut goes as planned, then I will do whatever show is close to the date I think I will be ready. I just started my cut so it would be awhile. I've seen the shows that are coming up in Ohio on your website. Just going to plan it by ear for now, although I am eventually gonna have to go to Columbus to take your posing class. I suck at it.

4 RPM 15 minutes before working out
5 NeoVar immediately after workout

Workout:
Deadlifts 225x15, 275x12, 315x10, 365x5
Deep Leg Press 405x15, 455x12, 495x12, 545x11
Archilletas 3 sets of 6
Leg Extensions 135x16, 135x15, 145x15

Comments:
I think that I may try only taking 3 RPM next time because I slept like shit last night. Felt like I had energy the whole night even though I took the RPM eight hours before I tried to go to sleep. Also, I am not a person who sweats much but I have been sweating my balls off in the gym these last two days. I am loving the energy and focus that the RPM gives me. I didn't feel like lifting (I hate deads) but after popping the RPM I was raring to go. Plus, I took the RPM almost right before I lifted because it seems that as soon as I take them I feel like lifting and get this burst of energy. Weight and strength the same so far.

Just pick a show and do it. The kinda sorta thinking about it method will likely be less successful and really just gives you an out. Trial runs are not bad though.

Comments:
Workout started out great with the RPM kicking in, but I didn't get much sleep last night and I lost energy and motivation and ended up only doing three back exercises. I had to go out and be social.

I really am only planning on doing a trial run because I have never really cut before. If I feel that I could compete at the end of my cut, then i will do a show. I plan on going to the Dayton show on 5/17 just to see how everything is run and how the competitors look.

Comments:
I took one less RPM because I had to go to bed early, but the one less was noticeable. There wasn't the same amount of energy and intensity. Plus, the gym was packed today and I couldn't do things that I wanted to do. Made for a shitty workout mad.gif

Lookin good Kevin!
Try lowering your RPM dose or meoving it even earlier in the day. You could also try splitting the dose up and staggering it....

Hope those sleep issues clear up.... if not and you like the stack enough to keep at it, I may be able to get some Lipo-PM your way to see if it helps out. I think you'd be best off to find a dosing scheme that clears it up for you though.

What a difference a day makes. I think that the NeoVar is kicking in. I went up in every exercise biggrin.gif . My weight is the same but I look leaner and I am seeing more veins pop out. Time to cut the carbs again. Will post my new diet soon.

Thanks man. Yea, I sleep better when I only take three but I have a much better workout when I take four. The staggering sounds like it may be a good idea. I am on days right now (work) but I change to nights next week so I will keep it at 4 for now and see what happens.

Also, how do I dose these on off days or do I even take them?

Posted by: Vitruvian Apr 30 2008, 06:01 PM
Neovar you can dose daily.... on off days just dose before breakfast and a mid-day/afternoon carb containing meal.

RPM will be up to you.... using 2 caps on off days would provide increased end results... but will also lead to a little quicker stim sensitivity.

P.S.~ Add 1 Neovar capsule into a 3 or 4 cap pre-workout RPM dose and see how that feels smile.gif This inclusion will aid in fat loss pretty well!

Incline DB curls 50's x11, 55's x8
Buddy Curls 5 sets of 90 with as many reps as possible

Comments:
I got off work and just wasn't feeling it today, not even the RPM could help. I did manage to keep all my weights the same though. It probably didn't help that my workout partner came in 35 minutes into my workout.

Off Day

2 RPM upon waking
5 NeoVar 15 minutes later
2 RPM around noon to stay awake at work
5 Neovar before my fourth meal

Comments:
I was really tired when I woke up but as soon as I took the RPM I was wide awake. Also, the RPM takes my appetitie away like no other. I literally had to force my breakfast down. Basically, I have not been hungry this entire day smile.gif . This is great for cutting. Oh, and my quads are probably more defined than they have ever been, but they hurt like a bitch from the leg pounding I did the other day.

My calories are now down to 3290. My breakdown is 350g protein, 270g carbs, 90g fat. No spaghetti either Rich wink.gif .

Comments:
Had maybe the worst night of sleep I have ever had. Fell asleep and woke up twenty minutes later then couldn't go to sleep for another two and a half hours mad.gif . I got off work early though and was able to nap before SFW. After 4 RPM I had insane energy and lifts went up again, I was gonna go for 130's on bench and 110's on shoulder but the lack of sleep kicked in. Strength was up but stamina and energy toward end were not.

DB Shoulder Press 85's x11, 90's x8, 75's x12
DB Shrugs 140's x16, x13
Dips 45x14, 70x11

Comments:
I had a couple of things working against me today: I had to immediately wake up and go lift because the gym closes at 8, I had to eat right after taking the RPM which made me feel almost none of the RPM, my workout partner decided to skip and there was nobody at the gym(no spotter), and lower calories. Even with all of that I set a new personal record. NeoVar is insane!

Thanks man. No, there was no spot. I had never even tried 130's before and the 125's that I had done the set before felt harder. I can't believe that I am doing this on a cut. I wonder what I would do on a bulk blink.gif

We'll have to get you some of the Recomped neovar in the near future to compare vs what you are using now.

As for the soreness..... I'd expect nothing less after that workout!

That would be great. If it is better than this NeoVar, then that would be amazing because this stuff is unbelievable. The best creatine I have had thus far.

Plus, I have had many people in my gym ask me what I have been taking lately because they say I look bigger and more cut. Gotta love it when you get compliments like that biggrin.gif . I tell them that I am on Neovar and RPM. Got some people that say they are going to buy them and two that already have. I don't recommend something unless I know it is good and these are great.

5 Neovar upon waking
4 RPM + 1 NeoVar 30 minutes before workout
5 NeoVar after workout

Workout:
Deadlifts 225x12, 275x12, 315x11, 385x5
Wide Leg Press 8 plates x12, 10 plates x12, 12 plates x7
Leg Extensions 135x16, 160x11
Leg Curls 170x13, 180x9
Seated Calf Raises 115x16, 135x13

Comments:
The pumps were insane today. I am not sure if it was from adding the NeoVar with the RPM or the fact that I had a cheat meal last night of pizza (I was starting to go insane and had to have pizza). I did feel the RPM more than I had been which is very well welcomed. Overall, a pretty nice workout with sick pumps in my quads, hamstrings and calves tongue.gif

Hey Kevin, looks like the progress is coming along well.  Are you going to the INBF Tri State show next weekend?  Just curious.  I will be in town all day and helping out with the show, but will need to hit a back workout some place good.

Yea man. My gym isn't very big but it has everything you need. If you need someplace to lift just PM me. I work friday night so I couldn't lift until later on saturday.

Yeah, we will be smashing weights after prejudging in the afternoon on Saturday. I would prefer to hit a more hardcore gym if you know of one in the area?

Thanks bro. I never really considered myself strong but I have been getting compliments lately. Really been trying to build up my legs. I don't have a camera so no before pics but I hope to get one soon to do some after pics.

I don't really know of any but I will ask around and get back to you asap.

Workout:
Wide Cable rows 140x12, 160x12, 180x9, 200x5

EZ Curls 110x13, x8

Comments:
I had to rush through the workout because I had to get to work. I made it to the T-Bar but I almost threw up from going so fast. Oh well, I hate back day anyway. I do love adding the Neovar and RPM together preworkout. Pumps are great.

I forgot to take the RPM and let me tell you that I will never forget to again. My strength and especially energy level were down. I was struggling to get through the workout mad.gif . The view in the gym was sweet if you know what I mean tongue.gif

Rich- The only "hardcore gym" I know of in the area is Powerstation and that is in Middletown. Not of any that I know of in Dayton.

I decided to up the RPM dose since it was leg day and wow. I still have amazing energy. I also repped out more weight on squats than I ever have and it still felt kinda light.

Checking out the log, seeing how your cut is going with NeoVar/RPM.

Nice diet listed, I like it! Though for a cut, I hope the calories aren't too high.

Dude your BB Curls are insane, here I thought I had some kick ass curls....Damn!

Chest workouts look strong too, you don't do any fly movements for a chest finisher? I find decline DB flys to add in a serious finish pump to chest. I usually use a weight I can get 10 reps with but yet still get more of a squeeze/flex feeling than weight feeling throughout the movement.

Thanks Ben. I am a hardgainer and have had a very difficult time gaining muscle but when I cut I lose fat like nothing so I have I can keep up my cals. As for doing a fly, I found for me that when I do them I get better shape but when i don't do them my chest seems to grow more so I switch it up every now and then.

I also read that H.Rollins The Iron link that you posted. I liked it.

5 NeoVar after workout

Workout:
One-arm DB rows 125's x10, 130's x9, 140's x6

T-Bar rows 135x12, 180x11, 225x8
DB concentration curls 60's x9, x9, x8

Comments:
I have found out that if I eat anywhere near the time I take the RPM that it just screws up my stomach. I feel like throwing up the whole workout. Sometimes I can't wait to take the RPM on an empty stomach because of my schedule. Even with the stomach issues, another great workout. We had another person workout with us, he is a powerlifter, and he was very motivating. Which is good because I abhor back day.

Dips BWx19, x15

Comments:
I decided I was going to go for 135's so I took 5 RPM. Man did I have energy and motivation. The RPM just makes you so focused and motivated to go heavy. it is unlike any preworkout supp I have ever tried. Had to rush through the workout due to gym closing and had people coming up to me asking me what my diet is like and what my workouts look like. They were impressed at me getting 135's and so was I. The only problem is I think I strained my left biceps sad.gif . Hopefully it gets better by back day. Plus, I am now down another 2 pounds.

I was not feeling it today. My workout partner skipped out today and I could just not get motivated to lift. I did find out that my left leg is stronger than my right leg. Guess I am going to have to start doing one legged exercises to strengthen the right one up to my left one. Left bi feels better today smile.gif

I will be running out of Neovar any day now so I will go and get my bodyfat tested in a couple of days and then have my final conclusion on these two products. As far as todays workout, it was okay. My left bicep started hurting again after the workout but it allowed me to go hard during the workout so oh well.

Posted by: Big_Ben May 21 2008, 03:48 PM
Holy crap dude, you are taking your RPM and NeoVar 15 minutes before a workout?!!! Not really bad, but if it seems its lacking performance then try what I do.

RPM I usually take a dose (-1) about an hour before and then the (-1) 15 minutes before a workout.

Your NeoVar should be taken then 15 minutes later some carbs consumed!!! I usually take it 1 hr to no less than 45mins before a workout, wait 15 mins and eat carbs or drink a protein/carb shake, then allow about 1/2hr for my stomach to mostly clear.

Are you getting some mediciny burps during your workout?!

Also I try not to eat anything about an hour before a workout, sometimes what makes you sick feeling is because of digestion and blood from your pump conflicting.

Posted by: Kevin43403 May 24 2008, 02:37 AM
Ben, thanks for the advice. I like to take it about 30 minutes or less before my workout because for me I have found it to be the most effective. I do gets those burps and that nauseated feeling but my strength is higher when I do it like that.

Comments:
Just a normal workout. Not really pumped but was still pretty decent. I guess it kinda sucks now that the NeoVar is gone.

Posted by: Big_Ben May 28 2008, 12:18 PM
Huh, well if its still working good keep at it! Sometime you should try how I posted and see if it does any better for you. But wait till you are off your comp cut incase if the extra carbs are too much.

Also being on a cut I'd recommend Drive which contains Forskolin, that stuff has muscle sparing properties for lower calorie diets and muscle building properties. Good Stuff...like having your cake and eating it too....oops bad analogy for being on a cut...my bad! wink.gif

I've been moving to a new apartment and with work and lifting I haven't had a chance to get on here, but I went and got my fat tested and did all the measurements.

4/23/08 5/29/08
Weight: 221 lbs 215
Bodyfat: 9.8% (Bod Pod) 8.7%

Measurements: (all cold)
Shoulders: 55.25" 55.75"
Lats: 48" 48"
Chest: 45" 45"
Arms: 17.5" 17.5"
Forearms: 14.75" 14.75"
Waist: 32.5" 31"
Calves: 16" 16"
Thighs: 25.75" 25.75"
Neck: 17.25" 17.25"

RPM/NeoVar Conclusion:
All I can say is WOW! I was able to lose 1.1% bodyfat, 6 pounds, and 1.5" off my waist all while my shoulders got bigger. I never thought that I would be able to set new personal records while on a cut. It seemed like every week I was getting stronger in something. These products are definately a must have while cutting. I plan on trying the new NeoVar eventually and hope that it is close to how great this version is. The only problem I had was that sometimes the RPM would make my stomach hurt.

Now that I have done this mini-cut I am planning my first contest to be next May. Rich is running one in Columbus in May and I am planning on that being the one I do. For this being my first cut, i learned a lot which should help me later on.

Congrats on the progress Kevin! The bod pod is pretty harsh too, so you are certainly lean. Keep training hard for next May!!
