I hear you. I personally don't have any grudges against Serra. I think he's a tremendous motivator and he doesn't seem like he goes out of his way to fuck with people like Matt Hughes does.
I actually felt a little bad for Serra last night after he got annihilated by GSP.
But I honestly feel like Serra pulled off a very lucky win over GSP the first time. The whole concept of putting those mediocre guys on the show and giving them a title
shot was absurd. They weren't in the UFC anymore because they sucked shit. You put all these shitty fighters together and find the best 2 (2 least shittiest) and give them each a title
shot?
On the flipside you've got a guy like Forrest Griffin who has been under contract with the UFC for 3 years and he's just now getting a title
shot? What is wrong with that picture.
Serra got very lucky the first time around...or GSP totally fucked up by underestimating him. In either case it's said and done.
And just for clarification, because I know some cunt is going to come out and say that Matt Serra would whip my ass...my definition of "shitty fighter" is someone who is generally undeserving of a UFC contract. I give props to all of those guys who fight, I love to watch this shit and that wouldn't be possible without them.
btw-That shit at the end of the Nate Quarry fight was THE FUNNIEST SHIT EVER.
