hey guys, i was hoping some of y'all would look over my proposed diet plan. my goals, in order: shed bodyfat, increase endurance, enhance work capacity for my lifestyle (patrol cop and Infantry squad leader)... i have some minor health issues (bad back, ADD, and low thyroid, which i am on medication for) and work 3rd shift. lately i've determined that working out when i got off at 0700 seems to be the best for my lifestyle, so i will continue with that. i'm currently 31yo, 6'1" and 230lbs, bdft unknown, but prolly around 20% and been liftin and training in martial arts since i was about 15. here's the basic plan: Meal 1: 4:30 PM- Vitalyze (3 caps), Synthroid (75 mcg) Meal 2:5: 30 PM-1 container Egg Beaters, 3 tablets of Fiber Choice (254 kcal, 48g/Pro, 14g/carbs (6 g fiber), 0 g fat) Meal 3: 10:15 PM- Vitalyze (3 caps), Focalin XR (10 mg) Meal 4: 11:30 PM-South Beach protein bar (210 kcal, 19 g pro, 26 g carbs (5 g fiber), 6 g fat) Meal 5: 4:00 AM-South Beach protein bar (210 kcal, 19 g pro, 26 g carbs (5 g fiber), 6 g fat) Meal 6: 7:00 AM- Recovery Stack (6 caps) Meal 7: 8:30 AM-1 1/2 cups cottage cheese, 3 tablets of Fiber Choice (254 kcal, 39 g pro, 21 g carbs (6 g fiber), 5 g fat) Total: 928 kcal, 125 g Pro, 87 g carbs (22 g fiber), 17 g fat in looking at this, i think i'm gonna be low on fat, so i'll supplement with fish oil, prolly 2 caps per meal, and possibly amino acids/BCAA with meals 4 and 5. i've had a lot of success with low carbs meals in the past, and since my thyroid crapped out on me, i can eat well under 1500 kcal/day and maintain my bodyweight.... obviously exercise will also be key, and i will post that in the appropriate section... http://forums.bulknutrition.com/?showtopic=43191

in all honesty, i'm completely burned out on shakes. otherwise, my thyroid issues have slowed my digestion a lot, and i have to eat small meals or feel almost sick....especailly around work, when i can't afford to not feel good.

All those south Beach shit is processed, and if I am not mistaken, their protein is majority soy protein. I would think they also digest faster then real whole foods! bet they pass through the stomach faster then an apple and may be some natural pb mixed with whey protein. See there is an idea*** Leave a jar of natural peanut Butter so its not real thick and add a half or so of whey protein (Chocolate or Vanilla, though prefferably PB flavor) and spread it on apple slices!

not a bad idea..... i chose the bars, simply because i don't have time to eat at work, and it's easy to have them in my squad car. ironically nough, they're one of the few brnds that don't cause me any stomach issues, so i think they're really low in glycerine (or sugar alcoholcs or whatever they put in 'em)....
