I have my tonsils out in two 1/2 weeks and I am concerned about losing muscle mass. I have never bulked but rather maintain the opposite, doing fasted cardio and ultra clean eating to maintain my definition and body weight. I am 26 and from what ive read the procedure is going to impare my diet and I will lose several pounds. I want to know what you guys think I should do as far as nutrition goes. I am very low bodyfat already and dont see much else being lost but muscle. I was thinking along the lines of just my usual morning protein shake of natty PB, oats, ice, water, protein powder blended extremely fine. The problem I am unsure of is, would these shakes deliver too much protein to my body if I solely relied on them for meals 3-4x per day? I recently had a urinalysis and the doctor said I had elevated protein levels and I explained to him my diet consists of extremely high protein intake and he told me to cut back on the shakes.the levels were not high just slightly elevated. I dont know what the hell that means. keep in mind ive been told I will be unable to eat anything with any kind of texture for about a week, AT LEAST. any and all suggestionson how to deal with this are welcome. thanks in advance.

Why not indulge in some Ice cream and frozen yogurt? That should provide substantial calories and its soothing to the throat. Not the cleanest way to get cal's but at least you wont lose an assload of weight.

Doctors hate protein shakes. Make some sugar free Jello pudding with protein powder in it. Chill it in the fridge. If that doesn't feel good on the throat I don't know what does.

That's what you get for swallowing all those years!! Just get you some weight gain shakes and stop being such a pansy about it!

Cause they're unnatural and contain steroids of course. |
