I know that Glutamine can increase protein synthesis and recovery time, but I also read that it is not good to take with a NO product (I read this in an article on this site regarding glutamine) because it decreases NO levels. The NO product that I have been taking for about a week is the new Pump-Tech by Muscletech. I am wanting to put on as much muscle as possible, so does anyone have any advice on what I should do regarding these products or any others?

My advice: Don't take glutamine

Well I have read things that glutamine is a presursor to glucose and NO products transport glucose to muscle cells for muscle growth, is this important for bulking up or should I just take NO by itself?

Well NO products aren't really that good for building muscle, just good for a nice pump and sometimes recovery. L-Glutamine gets mixed opinions. For future references, I wouldn't recommend Muscletech supplements, they don't necessarily not work...but they're overpriced and possibly not of the highest quality for the price. |

I have a question. I started working about about 6 weeks ago, and I been stacking BSN Nitric, BSN ex-plode, and whey protein. I have seen great results, but am I missing out on something. Please let me know.

your fine, those are ok products to start with... if your diet is in check you don't really need a multi, flax is good, waixy maize starch is great for pre and post workout meals most claim NO products are garbage, and they are when it comes to building muscle... however they do aid with endurance, and the pump is cool, so instead of blowin 50 bucks on nitrix or whatever just get some bulk arginine and citrulin malate... you will get the same effect and it's hella cheaper

Thank you for your advices. I don't mind that the NO products are pricey but I just want something that works well with my body and the NO products don't give me many side effects. I will try the multi-vitamin as my diet is not perfect. I feel that I am getting bigger, stronger, and lifting more every few weeks but I wanted to know if there is a good product out there to increase muscle size and definition, or maybe just the extra pump to get the shape. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to bulk up through just supplements, I just want to get the maximum results (looks wise) through hard workouts plus supplements. What would be the best product that would increase muscle size, and shape your body to look more muscular. I appreciated you quick responses and your help. |

look on the back of Nitrix by BSN.. says not to take with glutamine.. but im sure it's not like that with them all? I dunno.. kinda odd it's on the nitrix and not on NO2?

the nitrix bottle says to not take glutamine and nitrix "at the same time" dosage wise, and to "keep glutamine intake under 10g per day." glutamine is needed post workout cause your muscles are completely depleated of it and its the most abundant BCAA found in the muscles.

FT... Glutamine is not a branched chain amino acid... those are valine, leucine, isoluecinel... you are half right though... "A" for effort... in that glutamine is the most prevalent Amino acid in the human body... As for dosing... flex magazine recommends ramping up to as high as 20-40 grams per day when under intense stress or while cutting... I take 30 grams on workout days and 20 on non-workout days and have had great results... AST glutamine is the best... 1200 grams per tub... can't beat it.
