Nah, just strongmen use straps quite a bit more then powerlifters do and can be used in some of their lifts in competition. A few powerlifters do train with straps as well though to. Second thing was I've never seen an intermediate or advanced powerlifter whose back wasn't strong or looked like a stick. |
Good points. I was amazed to see straps being used in the WSM in the barrel deadlift. What I meant is that you would accelerate back development with straps than waiting for your grip to catch up to your back strength.
