Jump Rope for cardio

Anyone else taking this approach to cardio? If so how has it worked as far as getting lean? blink.gif

its fine. it just takes a certain level of skill in order to keep your heart-rate up and not have to stop every 5 seconds because you've become etangled in your rope.

It takes a fair amount of coordination....

Yes it does, i've got that part down, i use to box and we had to jump rope ALOT, so after a couple days i had my technique back, now i realy enjoy it. smile.gif

i love jump roping. i get burned the eff out after like 15 mins... and my calves DIE when i jump rope.

i just throw on a porn and whack off while standing on a stability ball. thats my cardio routine nowadays.

My only method of cardio is shortening rest periods to 30 seconds. Personally, this works better at cutting without losing muscle.

I use to jump rope quite a bit when I was trying to lose weight, I found it effective. Not to mention a nice change of pace.

Jump rope is an awesome cardio workout to do, or just to simply warmup before lifting. It incorporates all leg muscles as well as an upper body conditioning. Try doing double unders of even just with a regular speed rope for a change of pace.
