Mets....winners of 5 of their last 6 games. Hopefully this momentum will continue.
Johan Santana 7-3, 3.20 ERA, 71 K's....so far, so good.
Wright and Reyes are really heating up too, Beltran seems to be as well. I think Reyes has reached base in 32 consecutive games and Beltran has reached base in 25 straight.

I'm not saying they will win the world series and the Mets will finish dead last. But using payroll, or names on the roster as the sole determinant of the ability of the team. The Yankees are proof that a high payroll and big names do not equal success.

The Marlins have a tough time with attendance, becuase they play in an outdoor stadium in Miami, in the Summer. Who wants to go to a game outside in South Florida in July? If the D-Backs had an outdoor stadium they would have a hard time with attendance too.

Just that, JW was premature in comparing the Marlins to a triple A squad. Under paid doesn't mean under skilled.
When I say that the Marlins are a Triple-A team, I'm not saying just that they're bad or anything.
Low attendance, tiny payroll, hardly any name guys, and all their good players are immediately shipped off to other teams. If you didn't know I was talking about FL, what would that sound like? .....a minor league team.
That being said, props to the Marlins for how well they've played early on..
