Most boring world series ever.

Well I guess small market teams can stop crying about how much they suck because they don't have money.

Tampa showed that with some intelligent draft picks and smart trades they can be a winner without having to break the bank.

I still think baseball needs a salary cap though.

the rays have alot of talent to show for all their top picks (pena, longoria, upton, price) meanwhile the buccos are consistantly to cheap to even draft top talent as they usually pass on a player if boras is his agent. This year they actually took the best player avaliable but two years ago they took moscos a releif pitcher over i think his name is weiters whose catching for the O's and tearing up the minors

of course the world series is gonna be boring if your team is not in it

Everyone says the world series sucked and it was boring. The ratings were the lowest ever so I'm just trying to come up with an explanation as to why.

If it were Phillies and Red Sox then it would've done a hell of a lot better.

Jesus Buttfucking Christ I've been DYING to get on here and write about the Series.

First things first. FUCK THE PHILLIES AND ALL THEIR FANS.

Now that that's out of the way, congrats to the Phillies. They definitely earned their first WS win in nearly 30 years. Even the lesser names on their starting rotation pitched great for them and their bullpen was unfazeable. Their lineup was pretty cold heading into the Series but they got hot right when they needed to.

I couldn't be more proud of the Rays. At the beginning of the season, they were expected to be the doormat of the AL East, as well as the American League. Throughout the season they showed that they're a force to be reckoned with and anyone that wants to get to the WS next year has to go through them. Their key players just didn't get it done. Aki, Upton, Longo, Pena, Crawford, etc were ice cold right up until the end. By that time it was a day late and a dollar short. Their bullpen was uncharacteristically bad also.

It's allllllllllllll good though. They've got most of their stars locked up for a few years and my nigga David Price has a shot at the starting rotation in '09. GO RAYS.

Looks like the cubs are leading in the jake peavy sweepstakes. I cant beleive theres not more of a circus worked up over the guy. Hes arguably the best pitcher in the nl.

Sorry but the best pitcher in the NL is on the Mets.

Carlos Pena won the AL Gold Glove for first basemen. He's the first Ray to ever win a GG.

So far this offseason, the Rays have lost Cliff Floyd, Trever Miller, and Eric Hinske and Rocco Baldelli filed for free agency. The first 3 can go suck an egg, but they better not let Rocco get away. I think he'll end up being a lifer with the Rays. No other team will want to pay him while knowing he can't play everyday. He's been with the Rays all throughout his condition and treatment so I hope he knows where he's wanted.
