6'3: 242 lbs. 14% bf.
Deadlift 495, rack deadlifts 585 x 2
Squat 385 x 6
Someone asks you "how much you bench...?"
My answer: enough...

When I'm sick (with a cold), I eat soup, drink tea and lots of water, crank the heat, wear sweaters etc and sit on my ass and play video games or watch movies. I always take at least 1 day off work, and 1 day from gym, and all symptoms subside within 36 hours.

I personally can't stand it when I see ppl sneezing, coughing and blowing their nose because of a cold or some shit at the gym. FFS stay home have some consideration, I sure as hell don't want to catch what you have, and I'm sure 100% of the other healthy patrons feel the same.

Sometimes taking that extra day off from training makes all the difference towards recovery.

No, maybe I can't win. Maybe the only thing I can do is just take everything he's got. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that. I don't know.

Just play it by ear. If you can still function and just have a runny nose then SFW.

If you have flu like symptoms stay the fuck home.

There is a line where you will do more harm to yourself than good if you go to the gym.

Rest, smash food and liquids and wait it out.

As long as it stays above the neck I'm training. If it falls below the neck line I'm taking a day or two off then back at it.

If you've been lifting 6-8+ weeks straight, just take it as a sign to take a scheduled week off and enjoy a nice recovery week.

I go in no matter what, unless I have the flu. It is just too hard to stay out of the gym. Its like I feel myself getting smaller.

+1 working out whilst your ill will only prolong recovery and ultimatly keep you out of the gym longer.

Plus some dude sneezing or coughin all over the damn equipment would piss me right off..

If you don't rest, you don't recover. If you have flu-like simptems, training (even working out) can put a strain on the heart. Stay the fuck home.

If I can breathe, I'll lift. If I'm so congested that my nose doesn't functiton I'll stay home. If I stay home from the gym, I stay home from work. I know....most people do it the other way around.

i've read articles that say no fever... lift away... fever... stay home. but I was feeling like shit. so I stayed home for that week and actually just went ahead and took the next week off as my 2 week layoff every 6 months and that was it.
