Why not carry NO2 |

| Why doesn't this site carry MRI's NO2. I can purchase it from there own website, but not from here. I was told that GNC had the exclusive rights to sell NO2, but it seems to me that bulk nutrition could at least have a link to MRI's website. That way there could be more user feedback and product ratings about NO2. |

| you have got to be shitting me?! NO2 is horrible!! There are much better NO products out there like Nitrous by Syntrax and Cold Fusion by legal gear. Why would make want to post a link to MRI's NO2 when he has better quality products. |
| Posted by: weeviekins2000 Aug 1 2004, 01:35 PM |
| MRI's No2 is a great product. GNC doesn't have exclusive rights to it. Thats BS. I have seen it sold for cheaper by other online retailers. |
| Posted by: Prefontaine240 Aug 1 2004, 05:09 PM |
| GNC has exclusive rights, however their argeement only applys to retail stores. |
| Posted by: shpongled Aug 1 2004, 06:02 PM |
| See the Now AAKG product. Lower price. The delivery system in NO2 doesn't do anything. |

| NO2 sucks,I rather have NITRIX are V12 TURBO. |

I beg to differ! It makes ingnorant consumers wallets lighter. |

| have you ever even tried NO2? and if you have maybe you just dont respond well to it. that happens. i think if you read the forum rules you will understand why they dont have a link to the MRI site. and because if you buy from another site your giving someone else money instead of these guys. |
| Posted by: shpongled Aug 3 2004, 07:59 PM | ||
We haven't really been enforcing that rule, probably won't until people start showing up exclusively to pimp other sites MRI is not a competitor anyway. They are a supplement company, not a retailer If people really want to waste their money on NO2, more power to them |
| Posted by: Ramiro29833 Aug 3 2004, 08:28 PM |
| It's true I tried MRI like 2 time's and it suck's just a waste of money.I prefer NITRIX.I also took NO3 by UNIVERSAL NUTRITION and N02 by pinnacle.So u can't tell me that I |
| Posted by: Ramiro29833 Aug 3 2004, 08:53 PM |
| I'am a non reponder because I tried all of them so far.And the only effective ones were NITRIX and V12 TURBO. |

| Today I actually found out something interesting I guess GNC and MRI are sueing prosource.net for illegally selling NO2, I guess they were buying NO2 at a competition market GNC store (the gold card discount at compettition stores in 30% instead of 20% thus NO2 is 55.99) then selling it for 63.99 and cashing in on shipping. NO2 is a GNC exclusive. I just found that interesting. |

| Not an opinion of mine, but recently presented studies show that arginine DOES work, but the delivery system doesn't matter. I can post these if requested. Marc |

| Thanks for that Scivation. I took MRI's No2 when it first came out. Yes it was ridiculously expensive, but I kept buying it because it WORKED!. It did stop having an effect after a few months and thats when I stoped purchasing it. The only reason I tried it was because I know NO2 products are backed by real science(sp) no just hype. NO2 and creatine are two product that do work and are backed by real world results. Both have been around now long enough that I believe they are safe to take and proven to work. The people that say they don't work are either taking them incorrectly or not at a high enough dosage. I do agree with roids though that 95% of supplements are garbage. |

| i tried NO2 but didn't feel the perpetual pump, tried Nitrous and it was better than NO2 and tried Nitrix and it was the BEST. took 4 tablets on an empty stomach before each of 3 meals - i love it more than creatine |
| Posted by: Scivation Aug 5 2004, 03:58 PM | ||
Well, arginine works. I took it back in the day before bed when it was supposed to increase GH release. And I disagree, 95% of supplements ARE NOT garbage. Some companies use creative marketing, but that is true in any industry. For exapmple, I saw an "ALL" detergent commercial and they said it would get ketchup stains out of shirts. The next weekend, I went to a bar-b-que and guess what, I got ketchup on my shirt. Went home and washed it with ALL. Stain was still there! Did I yell and call the fine folks at Procter and Gamble "scammers"? Of course not! I attribute a portion of my success as an athlete to supplements. Things like ALCAR, caffeine, BCAA's, creatine and good old protein have helped a lot. |

| I don't respond to MRI's NO2 nor Creatine, and if you're like me (a non responder) then stop spending $ on them and figure out other ways. Don't make the same mistake I did by spending lots of time and $ on trying to make something which worked for others work for you. |
| Posted by: Medicated Angel Aug 27 2004, 05:05 PM |
| When U guys say it "worked" what do U mean? Are you guys only talking about tha pump? Theres alot more to NO2 than that. |
| Posted by: Nor Cal Lifter Aug 27 2004, 08:25 PM |
| NO2 does work. I think that alot of people don't supp the correct way. So they don't see all of the potential results. It works for me as far as pumps and increasing my endurance. I usualy get about three to four more reps on an exercise than if I am off of it. also I seem to recover faster. |
| Posted by: Scivation Aug 27 2004, 08:30 PM | ||
You're right, arginine works, and it works very well. The delivery system may not make a difference. And what do you mean by "don't supp the correct way"? Studies used between 6 and 12 grams of arginine daily over 2 doses. As long as people are getting that dose, it shouldn't matter if it is straight AAKG, AAKG in a delivery system, or AAKG wrapped in turkey bacon. Marc |
| Posted by: Medicated Angel Aug 27 2004, 11:43 PM |
| Tha delivery system is key when dealing with arginine. Its life-span converted to NO in your body is like 3 seconds, unless it has a delivery system. Do tha research on that. NO2 by MRI is a sure thing. |
| Posted by: Scivation Aug 28 2004, 06:33 PM | ||
No offense, but you couldn't be more incorrect. The latest study on AAKG versus NO2 funded by MRI at Baylor University found NO difference between the two. Don't make me post the study! |
| Posted by: Prefontaine240 Aug 28 2004, 07:21 PM |
| There are several studies sited in the NO2 book that contradict that. |
| Posted by: Scivation Aug 28 2004, 10:45 PM | ||
But not on NO2 itself. This study I am referring to was done on said product and funded by said company. All of those studies in the book were done on arginine and they made theoretical jumps in conclusion, which were disproven in a study that THEY funded. That book was a brilliant marketing piece. Arginine works, buy whatever product you want to buy. It's your cash. Marc |

| in any case NO2 is a big waste. Swole or V12 is a much better product period. Dont have to argue or prove you wrong just a thing that everybody would agree on |

v12 has no2 in it, so you are contradicting yourself |

| Swole definitely does not have AAKG in it |

Well if you want to be technical about Bill Nye The Science Guy... |
| Posted by: Prefontaine240 Aug 30 2004, 05:01 PM |
| If its all the same why does one work better than another? like I noticed NO2 worked much better than NOX2, any thoughts? |
| Posted by: Medicated Angel Aug 30 2004, 05:04 PM | ||
Like I said, I believe this is all about tha delivery system. Like for instance...NEw Pump Tech holds NO into your blood stream from 6-8 hours. NO2 by MRI's studies shows it lasts from 8-12 hours. |
| Posted by: dwm230000 Aug 30 2004, 09:50 PM |
| Did anyone notice that NO2 changed the name of their delivery system to phylex9. I don't know if this is new or they just changed the name. |
| Posted by: Prefontaine240 Aug 30 2004, 10:11 PM |
| I thought phylex9 was what was going to be used on CE2, could be wrong. |
| Posted by: Scivation Aug 31 2004, 12:14 AM | ||||
Wrong--the studies show otherwise. It's all in the marketing. |
| Posted by: Scivation Aug 31 2004, 12:16 AM | ||
Please post this study and explain how it makes the arginine more effective. I'll post my studies if you post yours. |

| Different strokes for different folks... I've been taking NO2 for almost 45 days and it works phenominally for me. Granted, I do have some workout partners that only saw minimal gains on it. But to date, I have gained 17 pounds and I am in great shape. Just because it does not work on some people does not mean that it does not work on others. Everyone's body chemistry is different and may have various reactions to various supplements. I have not tried the others, but I plan to. |
| Posted by: Scivation Aug 31 2004, 10:30 AM | ||
No one ever said NO2 doesn't work. NO2 is arginine, and arginine works. We were just debating if it is worth the cost. Arginine is a good supplement. |
| Posted by: beefcake Aug 31 2004, 01:56 PM | ||
I thought I remember a study that was done where they tested to see if this physer 3 delivery system did anything. Studies came back that it did nothing significant to increase delivery in any way. Was it you who posted it? I'm trying to find the damn thing. |
| Posted by: weeviekins2000 Aug 31 2004, 04:43 PM | ||
What do you mean by that?. We are ALL HUMAN and all human bodies work exactly the same. Its the mind that is different. The only reason people get different results on the same product is because there exercise routines, diets, etc. are different...Not there body. All humans are the same, unless your saying someone some people are alien? |
| Posted by: rawdawg Sep 30 2004, 02:39 PM | ||||
Yeah, dude, that's what I am implying some of us are aliens. So we are all the same, huh? Is that why some prescription drugs work for some and not for others? whether they be drugs for the CNS, ES, CVS? If everything worked for everybody then we'd all be taking the same shit. |

emailed mri should be getting answer this week on the difference and will it actually work now. I still perfer nitrovol. As it has critiline malate and argnine and some dilivery system which looks decent in it as well. I tried pump tech got nothin out of it but 80 bucks out v12 nothin no2 from mri 2 botltes notthing 160 out. Nitrix and regular largnine 50 out v12 out 60 bucks or so. I want to try orthine but argnine just converts in to orthine if i remember correctly. cex looks intersting to. |

| Phylex9 is the updated version of Physer3. Physer 3, although a very effective time release formula, released more arginine during the first hours of each dose, leaving the final hours slightly weaker. Phylex9 releases equal amounts of arginine throughout the dose. It is a more stable formula--also patent pending. Any NO2 with the Phylex9 logo is 3rd generation NO2. It is superior to any other NO2 formula we've released to date. I asked what the 1st one was then if the second one had physer3 |

| i know this is prolly waaaay off from what you guys are talking about and are prolly waaay bigger than i am, but just out of curiousity if this AAKG would be a good way to go, given the fact that i have been taking the muscle milk. and you seem to know more than the rest of the brain dead guys i talk to, anything would be cool, thanks. |

| Gotta give my 2 cents on this one: When No2 first came out, I wanted to try it but thought it was too expensive and I thought to myself "Physer3 delivery system, that's just marketing BS.” Everyone claims to have a delivery system and most of the time it is BS. So I bought 1 kilo of AAKG base powder from KiloSports, and let me tell ya, it SUCKED ASS, BIG WASTE OF MONEY! 20g a day produced little to no effect. So then I tried NoX2 by Pinnacle and it actually worked. It gave me lots of endurance during my workouts and a small, but noticeable pump all day long. I have also tried Syntrax Nitrous (Di arginine malate) and it sucked too. So the bottom line is that the delivery system is not a marketing ploy. AAKG needs to made into a tablet with some cellulose to slow down it’s absorption. The price for No2 by MRI is ridiculous and I would never pay that. I would like to try NOW’s AAKG because it is the cheapest and see how it compares to NoX2. |

| NO2, and all these nitric oxide products are a waster of money. I've met Ed Byrd and lemme tell ya he's a conniving snake oil salesman, and a fat overweight cocky piece o shit. He reminded me of a used cars salesman! In fact if you check out the Baylor University study conducted on NO2 u'll find that there were NO gains in lean body mass between a group taking NO2 and a placebo group whatsoever. these outlandish claims about "packing on lean mass" are a joke. the only difference was an increase in bench press and vertical leap, but we all know creatine does this already and it's much cheaper. Perpetual pumps my ass, I manage a GNC and I get tons of free samples of Pump tech and NO2, and they all suck. Another study presented at the ACSM also indicated that Arginine supplements actually stunt growth hormone release pre workout! I'd just stay stick w/ the proven supps, Protein, Creatin, Glutamine, and a good multivitamin, and the number 1 supplement is FOOD! |
| Posted by: MOOK* Feb 28 2005, 01:31 PM | ||
LOL, I heve never met Ed, he may very well be a cocky fat bastard. Some guys may claim that a No2 supp helped them put on a few pounds of lean mass in a months time, but I found NoX2 to give me a lot of endurance and I like the "pump" feeling it gives. If I would have listened to all the negative posts about NO2, I would have missed out on a supp that I really enjoy taking. All I can say is try and find a vendor that will refund or exchange product if you are not happy with a AAKG supp. then you can try it risk free. |
| Posted by: JianBlze Mar 2 2005, 12:55 AM |
| Yeah if it works for ya just stick w/ it. Sometime's I feel like a get a pretty good pump goin' when I supplement with these arginine supps but that could just be a placebo effect. Besides the ego boost however, I don't really think they do much in terms of lean mass gains and improving body composition. I can see how they may increase endurance which would be a bonus, but the recent studies shown about it supressing GH release make me wary! |
