Marion was disgruntled. They filled some needs with Shaq, provided he stays healthy, etc. Phoenix was lacking interior defense and Shaq will be a nice compliment to Stoudemire down there. I wouldn't refer to Shaq as "The diesel" anymore. The bottom line is that he is ran down and needs to retire soon. I feel this was a bad idea for both teams. The Heat are losing there only decent inside presence, and the Suns lost one of there best players.

On the surface this could be a great trade for the heat. Getting rid of shaqs pay and getting a former all star. Now if they can continue this tank job they might add beasley. If you look at shaqs numbers they were going down pretty quick. Now we have to wait and see if the mavs make a move for kidd, talk about stirring the pot in the west.

I believe it was a bad idea for the Suns to pick up Shaq. First of all, he's never healthy anymore and charges a hefty price. Second, the Suns are a fast-paced team, and Shaq is anything BUT fast. I believe he is going to hurt them in the long run.

Shaq has no place on that team whatsoever.

If the Suns wanted to get rid of Marion they could have found a MUCH better deal somewhere after shopping him around a little while.

I still think the Shaq-to-the-Suns move was a positive one. I heard Mike D'Antoni on the radio today and he said "Didn't the Showtime Lakers from the 80's have a 40 year old HOF center who was trailing the break every night? for the heat this is a great trade
they are no longer obligated to 40 million dollars for over the next 2 seasons to shaq
they only owe Marion 17 million for next year if he chooses (players option)
Miami can build off this trade while the suns are hoping for the best

I hope Shaq can deliver, he would be the only player in history to play on 4 teams and take each team to the finals

was i the only one who thought the superman dunk sucked? He jumped from way to far out and threw the ball into the basket. His behind the backboard dunk might have been the sickest one ive ever seen though.

Yes, you're the only one. Dude took off from damn near the FT line, off two feet, got crazy height and was up high enough and paralel enough to throw the ball straight through, which was most likely unintentional, but absolutely amazing. Plus, the showmanship was great too, which is what the dunk contest had been lacking in years past. I think the creativity and showmanship of Howard and Green were awesome.
