About the dark side...I have no desire.  There are far too many reason why I don't want to go that route.  I don't want that look.  I prefer aesthetic muscularity and shape over sheer mass.  I don't want a look that most people do not find appealing.  That just is not desirable to me.

Also, as a trainer what better way to really learn how to build muscle then doing it the hard way yourself.  Staying natural sets a good example for aspiring bodybuilders, landed my sponsors, will preserve my health, libido, perspective and positive mental spirit.

I don't have any delusions of grandeur, I just love to lift and strive to better myself and help others.

I agree with all of that, I think there are way to many people that start lifting and want to just blow up instantly. They don't want to do it naturally because it takes a lot longer and is way harder then just shooting yourself up with something or taking some kind of pills.

Depends on your goals.

What are your goals if you don't mind me asking?

LoL yeah I understand what your saying, I want to compete naturally, we all just have different goals. My opinion is that if you are going to take a step over to the "dark side" I think it is the most benificial to get to your genetic limit naturally then if you want to get bigger and want to make that decision then do it. I just feel that there is to many people out there that are going over to the "dark side" at a very early age without having learned the lifting baisics like proper nutrition and training splits.

like vaporize said, it depends on your goals. btw, most of the pros that make it started at a "very early" age. here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ec8aDR6OL5Y
jay cutler, branch warren, arnold, lee priest to name a few all obviously started juice 18 years old or possibly younger.
the people that start too early are the ones that dont know what theyre doing and have a lack of knowledge.

And like I said earlier we all have our own goals, vap has his which is cool, I wish him the best of luck at what he does. I'm not knocking anyone that takes roids or anything I was just saying how I feel about the situation. It isn't for me and I just think people should reach there natural limit first and make sure they know what they are doing before they go off like a dumb ass and start shooting there self up with a bunch of shit!

To each their own. There are many caveats for those that go the other route should consider. More to mention here in this thread. Good luck prepping for your first show Vaporize!

Saturday Morning Training

I rested up on Friday night to hit the gym early on Saturday before the Bucks game. I am not used to working out in the morning, but it awesome for day 1 on my new chest and biceps training. The joys of nutrient timing:

8:45 - P-Slin (weak point days only) and Cissus upon waking
9:00 - Pounded shake of 1 c oats, 1 small banana, 1 scoop Chocolate MaxPro, 1.5 scoops Strawberry Shortcake Gourmet Protein
9:45 - White Flood, Green Magnitude and ALCAR
10:15 - Purple Wraath, MaxGlutamine and Waxy Maize Starch

Chest and biceps superset bashing followed!!! This was a good workout and the high reps are hurting in all the right ways.

After having my postworkout shake, we headed down to campus to watch the Bucks smash Wisconsin. My meal of choice was an 8 oz BW3's burger and 6 carribean jerk wings. YUMM!!! A few brews were necessary as well. tongue.gif

As of now, I see Ohio St. and LSU in the national championship.

And if they do go, I'll be rooting for the Tigers tongue.gif

Yup, the Bucks have to beat Michigan at the big house in 2 weeks, which should be interesting. LSU has a tougher road ahead including the SEC championship game. I have officially begun making travel plans now for the National Championship in New Olreans!!! biggrin.gif

HIGH REP BACK = CARDIO

Today was the first day doing back with 10-15 reps and I was panting the entire time gasping for air. James was the same, so I didn't feel too bad. The workout was very motivating as James and I taunted each other with our goals to push us. By the end, my back was thrashed and I had nothing left to give. The way it should be.

I have added in GLYCERGROW, which will certainly help cell volumization while training with higher reps. BLUE UP will also be added to boost my natural test levels. TIME TO GET BIG!!!

Opfor, I told you this in NYC as well...do NOT confuse water with excess bodyfat. Both of these guys simply are carrying too much bodyfat especially Jay. Typical with many teen competitors.

Often when someone needs to be "dryer", it really means they need to lose another 1-2 pounds of body fat.

Oh, and there is simply NO justification for teen use of AAS or PH. Regardless of what has been done in the past. Bodybuilding is a long road to travel to reach success whether journeying to a Mr. Olympia stage or natural pro stage. Learning how to train properly, with maximum intensity, and while eating right for several years in a row is the only way to build a championship physique. Look at any IFBB or natural pro and their diet, training, rest and consistency is on point year round.

1st Week of New Training Down

The first week of training in a higher rep range (10-15) is finished and I must say that I am pretty excited to see the progression these next several weeks. Delts and tris today was AWESOME and they were ridiculously swole hurting in all the right ways. biggrin.gif I certainly have to get used to the higher reps though as I'm getting extremely winded at times.

Today, is a weak point day so I take in more calories following my workout. Dinner tonight = steak and egg sandwich!!! This was AWESOME and may become a regular meal on these days!

I grilled up a lean 8 oz strip steak and trimmed off the fat, cooked a whole egg and an egg white and crammed it between two slices of whole wheat bread. Broccoli was served on the side.

Good move with the high rep for back. I always got the most growth from going as heavy as possible and straining out as many reps as possible. I'm going to follow this journal now tongue.gif

BTW, I think it's hilarious how Jay sounds exactly like he does now in that video from years and years ago, with his real slow speech... lmao

Yeah, the higher reps are certainly gonna be a good shock if I just catch my breath enough to push out more reps, haha. rolleyes.gif Higher reps by no means equals light.

I like how Jay speaks actually. He is very cool and collected.

I did 20 minutes of cardio yesterday split between walking on an incline and slow jogging. I had not jogged in several weeks (been doing elliptical) and it surprising how fast your body gets out of it.

I am a big beef fan as I typically have lean ground beef for a mid-morning snack and lean steak for dinner. BUT TODAY, I get to eat beef three times!! Lunch will be at this great steakhouse to prospect for new business. I may have to get some mashed potatoes too as a treat biggrin.gif

High Reps Round 2: Off to VERY good start

Last week was the first week in a very long time since I lifted in the 10-15 rep range on everything, so I figured the second week at it would include some nice strength increases. YEAH BUDDY was I right and coupled with a massive pump!! biggrin.gif

My motivation yesterday was this picture of me taking 4th at the INBF Naturalmania...

user posted image

My goal is to win my class at this show next year, so when I saw this photo I became so psyched for my workout that evening. SIZE MATTERS and CONDITIONING WINS! I put a few motivational pix and quotes including this picture inside my locker at the gym to remind me what I need to do. GET BIG OR GO HOME!

Legs was yesterday and I will just say that I actually took the elevator down a floor out of fear of biting the dust down the stairs. Then a client was nice enough to cancel b/c I was so nauseous from the extreme energy exertion that I felt sick for 1.5 hours until I ate again. I would have just ate again immediately but my stomach was still full from my postworkout shake.

Chest and biceps was today and the pump was insane!! My strength increased on EVERY exercise! I could not help, but look in the mirror and hit a couple most muscular poses. Oh and I'm up to 174 lbs another 1 lb increase in a week.

I will take some progress pictures in the next few weeks after I get into this routine a little more.

Nice! Once you become aerobically trained and can handle that kind of workout, dare I recommend bumping it up yet another notch to back-to-back giant sets? That is the definition of intensity. cool.gif
