That equates to about 1.2 grams per day, once a day. Some people might feel the effects at this level and others (most) won't. Remember that, like vitamin C, it washes out of your system (water soluble) with the effects peaking about 3 hours after ingestion and gone by 6 hours after ingestion. Try .8 to 1.6 grams every 4 hours. It is very non-toxic and you can literally take 5 grams at a time if you wish. It is often reported that you will not really notice the effect without first consuming an "attack" dosage, anywhere from 4 grams to 10 grams, then take .8 or more grams every 4 hours. I take anywhere from 10 to 30 grams a day and the only negative effects I find are sensitivity to loud / chaotic noise (both my kids talking loudly), however that might be part of my individual response to large doses. Just be careful to stop taking it several hours before bed time because it causes mental stimulation and you won't sleep well until it washes out of your system.

For those of you piracetam experimentalists out there, what exactly is it doing for you? The main effect I keep seeing is that it "spaces" you out. I don't particularly find this to be a desirable trait. With regards to cognition, does it help with mental calculations, short term memory, memory integration, creativity (VERY SUBJECTIVE IF YOU ANSWER YES), exc??? I've used the racetams on numerous occations due to the enormous amount of positive research out there with regards to lipofuscin and alzheimer's. I always feel "something" when I take it, but I have never been able to pinpoint exactly what that "something" is. I'm in a relatively cognitively-demanding feild of study presently, and I have never found piracetam to be better than a simple cup of coffee for studying or memory recall. Ultimately, I'm curious as to how the racetams effect your cognition? Or do you take it in the same regard as a multivitamin; knowing that it is good for you?

Alright, I'm a total Piracetam/ Bulk Nutrition noob who has to slow things down by asking a question with a completely obvious answer. I bought the 700 gram Piracetam powder. On the container, it says: "Serving size: 2400mg 3-4 times daily" ... "Amount per serving: (2400mg) Piracetam" This, to me, would indicate I would take three servings per day, at 2400 mg per serving. That would be 7200mg daily, or 7.2 grams per day. That seems like alot. And infact, from this very website, the dosage description says: "This would indicate that the ideal dose for memory improvement in healthy individuals is 2.4-4.8 g daily (spread out over 3-4 doses), and this is in line with the clinical data." So, my question is, do I take 2400mg per serving three times a day, or 2400mg over the course of a day?

Jus an update for the other potential newbies! Figuring Piracetam was a relatively benign substance, and not wanting to risk feeling nothing, I went the whole nine yards, taking 2.4g servings three times a day (For a grand total of 7.2 grams per day). I felt it on the first day! I'm ordering Choline to see if the conventional wisdom about synergy pulls through. Thank you everyone who responded!
