Not really. Just a 4-year degree, preferably in business or significant experience in banking. Generally, you will need a 4-year degree to get into commercial lending. Very rarely does anyone get into it without a business degree. It also helps to have an MBA or MAC, but many don't have that.

Roids, where did the wifey and kids go for the Summer?
I'm going to start bulking this week. Going to start pounding more food and lifting 4-5 days a week instead of the 3x FB routine. Would like to gain 10 pounds of muscle by end of summer. Fuck this cutting shit, first I need to try to gain some mass before thinking of cutting.

Werd! I know a thing or two about job searching. The wife and kids went to Beijing for the summer. They won't be back till Sept. 4. It's kind of cool having the whole house to myself, but I'd settle for a few weeks rather than 100 days.
I'm not used to having this much time to myself so it gets pretty friggin boring. Not having a job right now doesn't help much either.

Best thing to do is look for banking jobs in general to try and get your foot in the door. Those kinds of gigs usually aren't posted in monster. It won't hurt to check though.

where do you have to go to find them...you don't have to work your way up from a teller or something to get your foot in the door?

No. I've never even worked in a branch. You should prolly try to get on as a customer service rep. Basically, you'd be the guy opening new accounts and originating loans (car loans, home equity, etc.). Then try to move into a branch manager position. Then, you eventually try to post for a job as an assistant to the commercial lenders, then a commercial lender. That's usually how it works.
I actually started off in a call center doing loans over the phone, then posted for a position as a junior Private Banker, handling banking and financial planning shit for the bank's high net worth clients. I had already had experience as an insurance agent before I went into banking. It also didn't hurt that my dad was and EVP at the bank where I started. Not that that had anything to do with it of course.

My ole lady's been doing it for about 10 years and she gets paid about $15 per hour. She works 3 days a week. I'd imagine it starts off around $10/hr. You could also see about getting on the management training program with a bank. You'd start off doing customer service/teller work and move into an asst. mgr. position pretty quickly. You'd prolly start around $25-$30k per year. It also depends on where you live and the cost of living in your town. Where you stay at?
