Beta-Alanine
what would be the best way for me to take the beta alanine powder?
To dissolve it in water and drink it or put in food and then eat it?

The most effective way to take Beta Alanine is to mix it with something high in glucose to give a insuline spike which helps in the absorbsion of alanine. Mix the alanine with 125ml of grape juice (not glucose but good enough)

This is what I do:

Beta-Alanine
1 teaspoon of evaporated sugar (I used to use maple syrup)
EEC
Cittruline Malate
PLCAR

Mix it with about 2 inches of water and slam it down.

I start feeling the tingling in about 20 minutes.

There's no evidence to take it with a sugar or carbo to boost insulin levels. This won't preferentially shuttle more BA towards the muscle. The same would apply to NO boosters as well. Absorption doesn't appear to be hindered if it's taken on an empty or full stomach either. So the most important factor is dosage and ranges from 3.2-6.4g based on clinical trials. It may be best to split it into several doses but that's moreso to prevent paresthesia(tingling). So as long as you take the prescrived dose it really doesn't matter how or when you take it.

I usually add it to my pre workout drink beforehand and then in some Gatorade post workout. I use about a tsp. for each serving.

You may not be taking a high enough dose. I feel it every time I dose, but I'm doing a teaspoon at a time. You seem to feel it especially on the scalp.

Yes. Do a google search and take a look at all the studies showing its effectiveness. The stuff definitely works, and works especially well when combined w/ creatine. it's not like it's very expensive to be that worried about whether it's worth the cost. it is.
