You may actually have a case here. Afterall, you most likely would have purchased flood insurance if FEMA hadn't determined that your area had an extremely small chance of being flooded. So, you are not 100% at fault.

Keep in mind that FEMA, the insurance companies, and the banks are going to be in total CYA mode (covering their own ass) in situations like this. They're looking after their own interests, so you've got to look after yours. You will probably need a lawyer.

That fuckin sucks man. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Hopefully you'll end up with a better house away from that shit.

We'll be okay. At least we still have ourselves, our minds, and our jobs. Many people have lost one or all of those. And TRUST me the next house we get will be on top of a fucking mountain!!

just glad to hear everyone made it out ok bro. The house and the shit in it can be replaced...and the westside video collection is only worth watching once. biggrin.gif
Stay strong bro.

Yep, sorry guys. Been a crazy mad house around here. Roids, we definitely help each other out. I've been out tearing out shit from houses since I'm done with mine. We just moved into a house in another little town. We're going to rent for the time being so it's a little more permanent situation then going from friends house to friends house. Much better then sleeping in the middle of a friends living room.

I'll be back into training soon. Looking to replace the power rack. Waiting for some shipping quotes right now. I'd like to get the
F-001 Flat utility Bench
F-103 Low Back Extension
F-506 Ham/Glut/Calf
F-200 Wide Base Power Rack
from
http://www.seguinfitness.com/2006_Catalog/CATALOG_2006.htm

I'll be better off then I was before with that setup. I think the shipping is going to be the killer though.

Will as for the land value it was only worth about $20k pre-flood. With all the damaged houses around mine it's bound to be worth a lot less for some time. We're going to see a lawyer this next Monday. I've already got the paper work to fill out for the Dead in lieu of but want to wait to see what other options there are or will open up. From what I'm hearing is that Iowa legislature is trying to push for loan forgiveness. They are already pushing through tax breaks for flood victims to remove all sales tax for the year. With any government process though it is slow but they are working on several things.

$1400 but it's the shipping that will scare me. That's a really good price for that equipment considering the prices for something similar at other places. And I've heard it's really good quality stuff. Not streamlined and pretty but rock solid. EFS has some really good quality stuff and looks pretty but it is just way to expensive for me. I would love to have an EFS combo rack, GHR, and Reverse Hyper but the combo rack alone is about a grand.

Here's the EFS package for the Combo Rack (includes bench), GHR, and Reverse Hyper.

I would love to have that but it's $2,850.

So is this new house that you're renting way above any flooding zones?

Well, it didn't flood this year so it "should" be safe from flooding. But hell you never know.

I'm lucky here, being on top of a friggin mountain.

I'm curious, why don't you just join a gym? Seems like it'd be cheaper, not to mention air conditioned.

Unless I keep getting flooded and have to keep buying new equipment every year a membership to a gym in the long run is more expensive. That and the gym has some restrictions like they don't mind the bands that I would bring in but a big no no on any chains I might get in the future. Plus, I can focus a lot more in the basement. There's a lot of pluses to having my own equipment. Very few negatives.

I still have that one length of chain for you...was keeping my eyes out for the other side...you said awhile back it wasn't a rush and now in light of these circumstances it will still be awhile before you can use them.

I've got an idea about something though.

Yeah, I'm still to work chains into my training yet. I guess by the time you get a set together it will be time for me to be ready.

Interested to hear your idea.

I still haven't heard back from Flexion/sequin fitness. I just put a call into Jesup gym to give me a quote on a rack, adj. bench, upper/lower pully attachment, 45degree hyper, power bar, and rubber mats. The rack isn't as nice and I wont have a ghr/rev. hyper through them but the price is really cheap and I can go pick it up paying only sales tax.

I was seriously contemplating contacting Matt Rhoads about your situation...but I felt like a total douchebag doing it...I only met him once and I realized how fucking retarded it would sound asking if he could do anything to help you out with your equipment...considering he's on the EliteFTS team now and is friends with Wendler and whatnot.

...so I decided against it. I know if I was him and got an email like that from me I wouldn't even respond. laugh.gif

Thanks, we'll see what happens. I've trained with Jeremy Frey too who's sponsored by EFS. I know what you mean about hesitating to ask. I hate asking for handouts. Makes me feel like shit. I'll accept people's gifts but it's different when I actively ask for it.

Now I don't know shit about metalwork but is your power rack that's rusted really not repairable? You just can't sandblast that shit or sum10? huh.gif

Would that cost less than getting new shit?

yeah if that shit ain't damaged, I'd definitely look at sandblasting it...or just say fuckit all together and leave it rusted, paint it with some rustoleum...rust ain't gonna hurt nothing bro...especially when you only bench like what...300...but it's probably gone down since you don't want to train just because your house is flooded...fuckin wanker.
