Just not with it. Dieting is for the birds. I'm done with this stupid goal. Just trying to get back into it and loosing some weight on top of it. screw that!! I've been taking in about 3000 calories and I'm going to bump it up to about 4000 now. I've been feeling really weak so I decided going in to today I was going to hit one hell of a RE session and hit a Total volume PR today. I'm so freaking nauseous and feel like about to go puke again. Most of the last few sets were really ugly and but comming up on the last few reps. Don't care. I'm puking.

Maybe you didn't gradually decrease your cals from when you were consuming 5000 cals/day, which is why you may feel weak? Try reducing down to 4000, then maybe 3500, then finally 300?

The week before the meet, three weeks ago now, I dropped my intake down to around 4500. Then the week after I dropped down to about 4000 and this week I dropped down to about 3000. I haven't been down to about 3000 calories in a long time. A combination of a training cycle that had me on the verge of overtraining, a meet that just wiped me out, and cutting calories down has me completely depleted of energy and motivation.

congrats on the meat, you are killing it

As a young lifter, I remember going into the gym and seeing some really big, strong dudes lifting heavy weights, clapping chalk, and making a lot of noise. The music playing on the stereo made you want to work out the moment you walked inside. This has been replaced by a bunch of pencil neck “trainers” with extra-medium muscle shirts and small shorts running around with clipboards having their clients balance on top of a swimming pool ball, juggle dumbbells, and recite their ABCs backwards. - Paul Caldwell

Those rubber bands add on quite a bit of weight. Plus it was speed day on top of that. wink.gif End of the week will be full on Max Effort.

Also...diggin the soundtrack you're SFW to in the basement there. Pantera?

Do you always bench with your back/ass up off the bench? Is that a PL thing? What's the reason?

Arched yes. The butt is always touching. You might be seeing me push with some leg drive. On the last set of the supplemental the 275x2 then a miss I tried to heave it up and got my ass up pretty good. If I actually made it I would have labled it as ugly.

Putting your back into an arch, even a small one, does quite a few things. One being reduced ROM but it also puts you in a better biomechanical position. Relieves stress off the shoulders and relieves some of the chance of ripping apart the chest muscles along with tucking your elbows in more.

I had to get a PR so after I got pinned hard I dropped it back down a little and went for 355. My rear started to come up and as I felt it I paused for a second and really concentrated on tightening up to get my butt back down. It worked and was able to complete the lift. Pretty happy about that. Next time I'll get 365.

Hits the upper back really good. Rear delts and traps mostly.

I just realized that the 335x1 was a PR as well. For some reason I though I hit 335 on a 3 board before but I guess not!! I'm REALLY happy with today then. I miss typed 355x1 it was 345x1. Either way I'm happier then a pig in shit.
