I want to switch my multi from GNC MegaMen (too pricey) to something else. Was thinking of trying Optimum's Opti-Men brand. Does anyone else use it? Any other suggestions??? Thanks.

Universal Animal Pak is hands down the best multi for bodybuilders/athletes. It says you need to take 2 packs a day if you are hardcore, but i take one and its fine. I think I paid $21.99 for the 44pak supply which is basically a 44 day supply. There are 11 pills in the pak, which kinda sucks because i have to down about 24oz of water to get them all down, but I feel supercharged an hour after taking them!

Yeah, ANIMAL PAK,is the best multi vitamin.I take this stuff and I feel energize. Not bad for 20 buck's and 44 pak's.

My opinion is that Animal Pak is crap, and you should get Now Vit-Min 75+ or 100+.

Posted by: Debaser Jul 1 2004, 09:33 AM
Why do you say it's crap? I wish I could accept your opinion on this one but I just cant due to all the good things I have heard about Animal Pak both in reading and from people at various gyms I have been to and nutrition stores I shop at.

Can you back up why it's crap and convince me in buying the Vit-Min 100+?

i think staying w/ the GNC multi-vitamin is fine, since its time released, you get all of the nutrients in it. i may just be speaking out of my wallet, but if you wanna lift heavy and use supplements, yoiu cant afford to go cheap.

Alive! whole food energizer is in my opinion the absolute best.

GNC stuff is crap and "timed-release"? Gimme a fuckin break!

if your so smart , why dont you tell us what you use?

I think the very best you will ever find is the Life Extension multi vitamin mix. Though it costs about $75, it is the best.

I like the multi made by Pure Essence.
NOW Eco Green is good and extremely economical.
ALive! is nice and the chewable version isn't half bad.

GNC vitamins are crap, they absorb badly, outside of the bodybuilding products are the best multivitamins. Check into swanson or puritan's pride they are both trusted by millions and have a lot of research and quality behind them

Man... Quit bitching and fighting about which ones are best... F*CKING use one... If you like it... You like it. Everyone is different, and respond different.

I personally use Now 75+... It has everything I need in it... Pretty well priced, and not coated in laquer like most others.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the advice. Considering all the conflicting opinions though, I'm just gonna go with Flintstone vitamins.

Well first there is the price difference. $15 a month vs. $3 a month.

Second there is the fact that the Now vitamin uses forms of the vitamins/minerals that are actually bioavailable. Animal Pak contains a number of inorganic forms with very low bioavailability so you aren't actually getting the nutrient. The forms are cheaper, and it legally allows them to put "100%" on the label even though it isn't really doing anything.

Third is all the extra shit in miniscule quantities in Animal Pak that you don't need and only serves to jack up the price. It is all for show. The "essential fatty acid complex" contains a whopping 300 mg of fat and none of it is even omega-3. The amino acid blend is all stuff that you will easily get if you are consuming adequate protein. Other absurdities include 25 mg of carnitine and 25 mg of bovine colostrum. All in all they sacrifice quantity of ingredients for both quality of ingredients and getting them in the appropriate amount.

That "energized" feeling is probably from the ginseng and/or phenylalanine, not necessarily from better nutrient absorbtion.

TO ALL THAT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT GNC VITAMINS:

GNC VITAMINS HAVE THE USP CERTIFICATION ON THE LABEL (UNITED STATES PHARMACUETICAL) BY FDA WHICH MEANS THAT ARE PHARMACUETICAL GRADE.

GNC ALSO USES MINIMAL HEATING WHEN MAKING THERE MULTI'S. WHEN VITAMINS SUCH AS CENTRUM IS SO HARD THEY JUST PASS THROUGH IN YOUR TOILETTE. GNC'S ALSO BREAKS DOWN MUCH EASIER . I ONCE TOOK A MEGA MENS VITAMIN AND PUT IT IN A GLASS OF WATER AND IT WAS MUSH IN AN HOUR. WITHOUT YOUR STOMACH ACID TO DIGEST IT THAT WAS IMPRESSIVE.

AS I SEE IT YOUR HEALTH IS ONE IVESTMENT YOU CAN CONTROL. SO WHY SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS THEN HIGH POTENCY AND QUALTIY

Hah,PHARMACUETICAL = drug. If you get sick off it and tried to sue gnc or any drug company you would loose as a drug is at your own risk. Look on the lable if says keep out of reach of children its a drug. Simple as that. Protein what ever it is if it states it on there its a drug. THe way the did it in the labs makes it a drug. weather its heating it or doing something. I don't know, any thing. 1 hour. My foodlet dissolves in 7 mins in water. It gets in my blood in 15 min. It contains 27 vegitables and 100% of your vitamins and minerals.
CENTRUM If if I remember has shellac if I remember correct as for animal pak that is also a pharmecuetical grade. It has tones of things but its synthetic same with gnc and centrum and flinstones etc. PM me if you want to know the stuff I take. If you take centrum or a pharmacuetical grade one gnc doenst matter costco and heat it in the oven at 400 degrees you will see the tar in it. The black shit that they put on ur roof. Do a test. It will smell bad and it will toast. The stuff I take you dab water on it and let it sit it will grow as it is from vegitable and it still has life to it. It is not heated and is cold proccessed. I love it and my stomach loves it the most.

Is the ADAM™ Superior Men worth the $?

There are only Three Different types Supplements
 on the market today.
Vitamins vs. a food concentrate and attached is a list of ways to read labels.  There are three kinds of Vitamin products on the market today, but there is a world of difference between them, both in origin and effect upon the body.
1.)   The Chemical or imitation vitamin, which is the end product of a chemist’s test tube.  Chemical or synthetic vitamins are made from coal tar derivatives and are inorganic.  Biochemists as well as Medical Scientists proved many years ago that Synthetic Vitamins couldn’t become a part of a human tissue as they are inorganic, and the body will reject them.  It is true that a chemical vitamin may stimulate or nudge a sick or lazy cell, but it will not FEED it.  Chemical vitamins are the cheapest, but least effective.  We also know that coal tar derivatives can create cancer in laboratory animals!!!!
2)    The Crystalline or altered vitamin comes from natural sources, but has been isolated by heating to temperatures beyond 160 degrees, which destroys much of the natural enzymes that occur in nature.   When a vitamin has been concentrated down to give 200 to 500 or more miligrams per tablet, in order to do this, heat must be applied, and the entire molecular balance, created by nature, is completely destroyed.  Also, to get such concentration in tablet form, much of the nutrients that occur naturally are removed, if not destroyed.  Here again is man tampering with nature, to produce a cheaper product, which can remain on a shelf for indefinite periods without spoiling.
3.)  *Lyophilized* FOODLETS are supplements that are plain, unadulterated, concentrated food in a tablet form, COMPLETE BALANCE with nature, with nothing having been removed except water, and any cellulose fiber.  The Organic materials have not been exposed to temperatures beyond 25 degrees thereby preserving the natural balance and enzymes that occur in nature.  They are formulated by what is known as the *cold process*.   The FOODLETS contain no additives, chemicals, fillers, binders, excipients or sugar.  The FOODLETS are coated with spirulina and lecithin.  Some companys do not produce a tablet that would contain 500 mgs. As to do so, and have it contain everything that occurs naturally in the food material, the tablet would be as large as a golf ball!!  Because the materials used are organic foods, the quality control must be extremely rigid, and this is a more expensive process, as organic materials vary and can spoil.  The shelf life of a FOODLET is said to be two years.  Experience has proven that the foodlets are most effective and do get results.  Food companies I know of offer a money back guarantee that if the individual uses the foodlets and the BIOLOGICALLY COMPLETE PROTEIN in combination for 30 days, and does not feel better than ever, you get your money back. I am on my second bottle and Love it so far.

IN CONCLUSION, BEAR THIS IN MIND:
CHEMICAL VITAMINS DO THINGS *TO* THE BODY
FOODLETS DO THINGS *FOR* THE BODY!!!!
