For those of you that have experimented with dozens of WHEY ISOLATE powders, do you prefer ONE for its effects on GAINS rather than taste. I am talking about strictly WHEY ISOLATE powders, money no object, based on gains, what has worked the best for you?

AST VP2 worked pretty well for me.

Thanks layne, do you think it is a coincidence that VP2 is one of the highest priced proteins on the market? I don't. With all the supps I take I just don't want to be missing out on the positive effects of the most basic one of all. Thanks again, I'm going to try VP2 and give Substance WPI a try soon also.

Yea ive also heard good things about Substance WPI. VP2 is pretty expensive but i usually dont go by price, i go by quality!

These days I pretty much only use Syntrax Nextar, Substance WPI and Ergopharm Ipro. I think they're all about equal, but it seems like I've gotten the best gains using the Ipro. Ergopharm almost always puts out a very solid product.

If you want a flavor recommendation for Ipro, my personal fav. is orange cream, although I also like green apple really well. I'm currently using their raspberry lemonade flavor, which is very good, as well. The cherry isn't BAD...just kind of an almost cough syrup taste.

Thanks for the recommendations Josh, I'm gonna try all these over the next few months, also gonna try Isopure. Hopefully I notice a difference. Ive had about 100lbs of ON over the last few years.

Ergopharm's GF Pro .....While very expensive compared to the cheapies, I prefer Ergopharm's GF Pro. GF Pro is basically a whey isolate with nutra gammax added at about a 1:5 ratio (20% of total). Expect to pay about $50 for 5 pounds. Try it. I think you will notice the difference in taste and mixability compared with most other whey proteins.....I have tried almost all of the whey proteins over the years, both pure isolates and combinations. I can't honestly say that one did more for me than another in terms of gains. Gaining strength or muscular size is a function of many different variables, only one of which is diet. Important no doubt, but not the only thing.

GF-Pro is very nice, too. I actually just started a 5 lb. jug of the Blueberry Madness flavor today. Very refreshing and different taste. It reminded me of blueberry yogurt when I mixed it w/ water this morning.

I've heard its really nice in milk, and tastes like a blueberry smoothie. So far, I really like ergopharm proteins. Expensive, but very high quality.

I have always thought that there is a correlation between sodium content and the quality of the whey. I believe it indicates the process of breaking the whey down into isolates, using acid, heat, cold ect. That being said you will notice cheaper econo wheys lots of time have high sodium content, so in that regard a quality isolate should be low in sodim. Isopure which I have never cared for is high in sodium, and I think it is overpriced overhyped. I could be wrong on this sodium to quality correlation but I think that there is something to it.

Stay classy BN

Hey, I'm new to the forums and just started getting into lifting about a month ago. I am definately not as knowledgable about body building as probably most of you are (hence why I'm here) but, I was wondering if the stuff I'm using is good or not. I am using "Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Protein and the Super Advanced Creatine".

Both are fine. Especially given price and availability (Wal-Mart).
