Chocamine Powder
Ok so according to several sources the cocoa bean contains no caffeine naturally. I've seen ingredient list for one brand of chocamine and one of the ingredients was caffeine, so it does seems to be added, and not inherent in chocamine. What cocoa does naturally contain, theobromine, promotes a feeling of well being. Caffeine on the other hand promotes anxiety. This is consistent with my experience that regular chocamine makes me feel nervous while the caffeine free version makes me feel great. So, seeing as how so many people are taking chocamine as a feel good/anti anxiety supplement, would you consider bringing back the caffeine free version at least as an option? Thanks.

I know that this is a 2 year old thread and all, but cocoa isn't caffeine-free in the powder ordinarily made for consumers. It has low levels of caffeine, yes, but not caffeine-free. I think that you might be implying that caffeine is added to the powder to raise the low caffeine content to substantial levels for supplementation use as chocamine.

At least that's what I gather because it seems that all the chocamine powder I just received is - is cocoa powder with white bits of something in it. I thought chocamine was supposed to be a purified cocoa before I bought it, but honestly the only difference between it and the cocoa powder I'd been taking for months prior was course granules of white bits strewn about what tasted like ordinary unsweetened cocoa. After this first and only bottle of chocamine is consumed, then I'm going back to cocoa powder - same thing as far as I can tell taste-wise and efficacy-wise.

Who knows, maybe the thread starter actually received a genuine cocoa extract over 2 years ago and was trying to voice his complaints about the difference... Seriously, it's like they took caffeine tabs and put them in a blender, then bought some Hersheys cocoa powder and mixed the two.

Extracts don't have course off color granules strewn about in the powder, and they should taste different than the untreated plant material that it was made from because the unwanted materials that count towards the overall flavor/texture should have been removed!!

I have a peptide/RC store now. Lets just just say the prices on the peptides are more elite than the other guys.

There are TWO different Chocamine raw materials manufactured and supplied by RFI Ingredients, pure chocomine and chocomine with added caffeine anhydrous. If you saw white bits you had the one with added caffeine.

Chocomine is an extract that has been standardized for the active constituents, hence the fat, fibre and carbohydrate has been removed and allows for consistent dosing of the theobromine etc... Cocoa powder will vary in its active composition.

But if cocoa powder does it for you then stick with it!

Cocoa beans extract is almost same as caffeine free chocamine!

Chocamine makes me nervous or over excited esp when combined with my favorite smart drugs but cocoa beans extract makes me feel good.

Too bad that BN has stopped offering my favorite smart drugs like oxiracetam, piracetam & idebenone. Cocoa beans extract or chocamine alone is not going to make me really happy sad.gif
