I remember when Muscle Link came out with cort-bloc a couple of years ago. I had always planned on taking it, but for some reason never did and I ultimately forgot about it. I recently read some good reviews on Now's PS. Does anyone have any experience taking this product or any other PS supplement? I would be taking it ultimately to allow myself to increase time and intensity in the gym w/o risking overtraining.

Ive been taking 750mg/ED of BSL's PS for a couple months now... cant say ive noticed much in the gym.

It does have some potent mood stabilizing effects. My temper isnt set off nearly as easily... things just seem to roll of my shoulders much easier when i use it.

Also, when you take around 2g at once, theres this bizarre semi-drunk feeling. Drunk isnt the right word, though... its like youre drunk, but your mind is still able to concentrate and function fine. Very hard to describe. It doesnt last long, though... maybe 20-30 minutes.

Would stacking something like Metacort and Phosphatidylserine be beneficial in cortisol suppression? Cost aside, anyway. Or would you just choose one or the other?

Im sure it would be beneficial... but do you have any reason to need that kind of suppression? 7keto works fine by itself for PCT. And as i said, i didnt notice much from my use of PS.

PS supps are great if you have stress induced over production usually easily noticable by excess stomache fat and also if you over train. I used PS,fish oils,CLA and bacopa with great result. I wasnt even dieting and everyone noticed the fatloss In a 3 month period.

Cost aside... yes. However I do not think PS is worth the money unless you are using a low dose or have serious cortisol issues or Alzheimer's.

I use ps pretty often, I feel it helps my general daily stress, but I wouldnt rely on it to compensate for excessive sets, it helps but its not that powerful. If you added alot of time and sets in your workouts I think youd be dissapointed with it and end up overtrained and hit a plateu. And quite honestly a bit on the overpriced side, but I do like it when I can afford it. I have never heard of 7 keto DHEA being purported as a cortisol suppresant, its ussually marketed as a supplement for the purpose of supporting healthy thyroid function. The metacort also has 6 oxo in it, and may or may not reduce testosterone to estrogen conversion, subsequently resulting in more total testosterone, which could work in opposition to cortisol, but to what degree I cant say. Id suggest holding of on the ps unless your mood needs boosting, in which case you could add 5HTP, and Tyrosine to the PS as mood enhancing stack. Hope this helps you decide.

Usually for a cort lower response form PS you need upwards of a gram per day, which really isnt cost effective at all.

I still think Lean Xtreme is the best for it followed by 7-oxo, if you used metacort you woudl be getting a dose of 6-oxo everything which you really dont need.

Over at smi2le.biz he has 120gr. of 50% PS (total of 60gr.) for 90 bucks I belive. Definitely the best deal out there, but still pricey. Personally, I get nothing short of phenomenal results with 800mg. pre workout 3 x per week. At only 2.4gr./week, its not so bad.

Shipping is $20 no matter what size order you have. I will have to order a lot to reduce the total cost. But they dont reduce the cost for higth quantity . that sucks.

I hope to see bulk PS soon.

i would love to try lean Xtrem. But $40 is a bit too mutch for me. $40 for 15 days at the maximum dosage laugh.gif

What kind of cortisol reduction can i expect from lean xtrem ? may be 20-30% in the course 15day ?

QUOTE (David Tolson @ 7-OXO Science)

7-oxo-DHEA may inhibit the production of cortisol by 11betaHSD1 in in vivo situations, and this may be involved to some degree in the antiglucocorticoid action of 7-oxo-DHEA and related compounds. Sulcova et al. performed a study in men involving transdermal administration of 25 mg 7-oxo-DHEA for five days, and circulating cortisol levels decreased by 7.4%, but the effect was not statistically significant, although it was close [22]. Also, in the results reported by Davidson et al., cortisol levels decreased by 7.7% over eight weeks, but again this was not statistically significant [7]. Thus, the present research suggests that 7-oxo-DHEA functionally reduces cortisol levels, but further research should be conducted to confirm this.

I will need to get my hands on 4 botle of Lean Xtrem at the cost of $160 to last 8 week @Maximum dosing. 8 week of 7-OXO to reduce my cort level from 28 to 26.

But why 7-OH make 7-oxo, 7-oxo ethers and 7-oxo transdermals obsolete ?
What are the researche behind thos claims ?

i realy need another blood work to confirm that my cortisol has dropped after it's use

@Sldgehmr why 6-oxo is bad thougth that testo increase may reduce the impact of cortisol on imune systeme and muscles

Ok Ill try and answer all of these. Lets say you have a 20% reduction in Cortisol that would be more then double the drop from 7-oxo. Does 7-oxo cost less then 50% of Lean Xtreme? My guess is that it will lower it more then 20%, I dont know for sure I havent had blood work done on it yet, but from my own exp. it has severly lowered my C levels so much that I had to use a smaller dose. My joints just got too sore.

Also it shouldnt matter the cost if it really works (I dont think 7-oxo or PS works as well as this) and helps. I suffer from terrible migraines, I used Imitrex to treat them and when Imitrex first came out it cost me $900 for a 3 month supply. It was well worth it and that time.

But these should have relevance for what you would be using this for:
Neurosteroid 7-hydroxylation products in the brain.
Shows that alpha-hydroxysteroids was a key event for the neuroprotection conferred by neurosteroids

Neurosteroid metabolism. 7 alpha-Hydroxylation of dehydroepiandrosterone and pregnenolone by rat brain microsomes.
Shows 7 alpha-OH compounds may contribute to the control of neurosteroid activity in brain.

Now the reason it makes other obsolete is because it is the perferred hormone for the human body, meaning that this is the form that works the best and it works great orally, which 7-oxo does not.

Does this help at all?

I am not sure if using green tea will help you reduce cortisol levels in your blood. The reason is that green tea contains caffeine which stimulates your adrenal system which is responsible for secreting stress hormones such as cortisol.

You may want to go a little more low tech and low cost. Insulin management is perhaps your most effective way to combat cortisol. Try eating nine meals a day containing carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in relatively sane portions (like 50%, 15%, 35% for a total of at least 200kcals per meal). Insulin is a cortisol antagonist.

Yoga, meditation, and cognitive behavior therapy are also useful for stress. They are also somewhat inter-related.

An integrated approach would stand a greater chance of being effective rather than just taking in supplements/drugs. Stress seems to be a long-term issue for most people and thus it makes sense when the approach to combat stress is sustainable over the course of your lifetime.
