Do u need to be a certain age to take ZMA or is it just a natural thing that anyone can take?

It is fine to take, it is just Zinc, Magnesium and B-6. Just incase you are taking some sort of Vitamin C supp, that you take them at least 8 hours apart. The zinc and Vit.C are antagonists for each other. Fpot66

well, nic, not saying your wrong, but then why does my ZMA product have vit. c added to it? it is EAS ZMA hp, and it has 500mg(833%) of it. that just really doesn't make sense if they are bad antagonists. or would you be saying antagonists as in benefitting from one another? maybe im just a little confused. sorry if i am wrong. but if not, then help me out and explain, plz. thanx

Yes, it is true vitamin C can interfere with ZMA and would not be as effecting us taking just ZMA.Also NAC can be a bad commination with ZMA like the ACETEBOLA product by MUSCLETECH.If u are looking for a good ZMA product go with Z-MAZZ P.M. by CYTODYNE is the best ZMA product out there and it also contain's alpha dopa which is said to bring your Test level's a bit higher, it is natural and safe.

yap just cause companies combine products doesn't mean they work good together (such as vit c. and zinc). you could look at cell-tech if you need a really good example of that =p

It is calcium that you shouldn't take ZMA with.

ZMA with calcium is actually fine, it won't be a problem unless you take huge amounts of minerals.

I have never heard of Vit C interfering with zinc, they are used together in alot of things such as natural cold medicines. I have most certainly heard of Calcium messing up the effectiveness of ZMA. If you were to buy zimc and magnesium separately, there would more than likely be calcium in the magnesium, both of the products would more than likely not be aspartate either. So, dont take your ZMA's with milk, take them with orange juice.

what is the cycle length for ZMA?
Posted by: David Hawkins Jun 11 2004, 10:03 AM
So what exactly is ZMA good for?
Posted by: rrgg Jun 11 2004, 01:23 PM
At the very least it may help compensate for increased mineral consumption in athletes. The larger claim is that it may slightly boost testosterone production. See below: "In a double-blind randomized study*, ZMA was tested on NCAA football players over an 8-week period. There were statistically significant increases in free testosterone levels, IGF-1 levels and muscle strength compared to the placebo group. No side effects were noted in the published research."

Since I started taking ZMA, im a little bit of a short fuse. My temper has gone up, and I feel like beating this piss out of some of the guys on my softball team that think they are hot shit. Could this be from a rise in Testosterone levels? In the past 2 months I have started taking: ZMA Acytel L-Carnitine R-ALA Im not taking anyting else other than creatine and protein. Any ideas? My fiance says I have male PMS. Fuck that!

Debaser, it is possible that ur temper is due to the increased test levels. However, overtraining could also put u in a bad mood also. I had the same problem and read somewhere that if your mood is being altered to take 800 mg of phosphatidyl serine either preworkout or before bed. As for the rest of the myths, theres no cycle period for ZMA, its just vitamins and minerals u can take it for as long as you desire. However calcium should not be taken at the same time because it inhibits the absorption of this complex. Also, zinc and vitamin C are not antagonists, theyre both antioxidants and work well with each other.

It's not a PH or AAS. Take it as long as you want if you think it's worth it. It won't make you huge or anything. |
