Hey i have tried out three mass gainers, which include Muscle Juice 2544, mamotth and i just bought CytoSport Cyto Gainer, and i just wondering if you feel that this one is better.

The cost per seving is alot higher then any of the others and this has added createin. however, as this already has creatine an so does my nitrix and v12, will it be to much?

Any advise would be great. Im reallying trying to increase weight by about 20 pounds and need all the extra help i need.

thanks

Dude, if you had just clicked down once, or tapped "Page Down," you would have seen this thread: Mass Building Supplements.

I believe you should make your own weightgainers using whey, dextrose, maltodextrin, etc. Search for postworkout shakes and you'll get some info. Most premanufactured shakes include just whey concentrate (not as bioavailable as whey isolate) or do not have the right mix or source of carbohydrates. Consuming weightgainers any other time than postworkout will cause you to accumulate alot of weight...........due to fat accumulation.

I firmly believe that mass gainers aren't that different compared to real food except for their convenience. Heck, there's a lot of food out there that only takes a few minutes to prepare and can have the same effect as weight gainers.

I was 165 lbs. 3-4 years ago when I started working out and I didn't even know if I would even get bigger (without being fat). I was wrong! During the first year, I would bring a loaf of wheat bread to college; including a shaker for protein shake. My approach was different and the first few months, I wasn't getting any extraordinary results that I wanted. All I know was I'm eating big time only to match my lifts; otherwise it would be a waste of gym time. Its the only thing that kept me going; I want to get big! I didn't even understand the concepts of excess calories back then but the goal was clear on the back of my head.

I tried weight gainers before but later on found out that its not the best way around. I could easily just save my money and spend on things such as wheat bread, peanut butter, chicken, beef and whey protein. Its basically back to the basics of growth and that is to stick to natural foods. You might not be able to understand this concept right now but sooner or later you will. I'm not saying that I didn't take supplements to grow but during my early years, I knew that its the biggest growth spurt of my 'growing career'. Now that I'm 232 lbs., the only stuff that I'm taking are whey protein, multivitamins and creatine. It all comes down to priority and I became wiser on what supplements I should cash in. I hope this helps.

By the way, I used Prolab before and its not a bad one.

The menace has it right. Good old fashioned food is the best weight gainer. I am still a firm believer of a massive homemade postworkout liquid meal.

I am currently bulking and am tryin to get all the calories i can get in.. its harder for me to pick n choose my foods because i'm at a military college.. I have MRM metabolic whey and a 7lb container of maltodextrin. Would just adding tons of maltodextrin in after a workout help me get those extra calories for good weight gain?.. ne suggestions on what i could throw in a shake would help tons!

Shoot for 40-50g of whey and 70-80g of carbs from dextrose or maltodextrin or a mixture of both.
