Just my preference, but I don't like machines.

+Adjustable bench + Chin bar + Glut/ham raise is all you need. Oh, and some bars and weights.

Who has money or space for that monster anyway? You must be one of them evil people who make over $250k/year!

cool i like racks also becoz of the free range of motion with the safety catch. the restriction on the smith machine sucks thats why i wana upgrade.

i like the leverage multi system becoz it looks like everything all set up a ready to go! with minimal hassle. looks very convenient. The lazy man's workout... if that makes any sense. My biggest concern tho is the restriction of free range of motion & how lifting feels compared to free weights. i wud'nt use this to work on bi's at all tho. I'd stick w/my preacher curl.

the leverage systems looks pretty cool for convenience & im luvin it! lol but the rack is the better choice.

thx

Looking good and being strong isn't convenient. It requires hard work and inconvenient eating. smile.gif

I like the rack Lorken posted. I can't fit the full-size "box" racks in my basement - low ceiling. This would be perfect. A fully-functional rack is my next purchase. I picked up a cheap Gold's Gym rack and adjustable bench at Wal-Mart for like $150, and it's getting me by for now - it does allow me to squat, and it's got a max weight of 600lbs. (lifter + weight).

Home Gym

That cheap setup + pullup bar + ab/slant bench = pretty damn good workout

Not sure if you mean initial setup, or setup for a workout, but I'm pretty sure that thing wouldn't come pre-assembled. blink.gif

Don't be lazy at the gym, or anywhere. Like shakes said, avoiding hard work won't get results. I always rack my weights, just because I know that's "lifting" too, even if it isn't part of my log. I always park further away from the door than I need to, at the gym and everywhere, just because I know NEPA (non exercise physical activity) is good for fat loss, and general well-being! It cracks me up, people at the gym try and get the best parking spot, so they can go walk on the treadmill for an hour! laugh.gif Lazy is no good.

I know, Not Big©.

I could probably fit one in my basement now, but not my last house. Besides, who would want to move a full size rack anyway?

I have both a smith machine and power tec work bench if i had to buy again would proably looked more and a half rack or the other work bench they have where you can you use a barbell for squats and bench but still has a pulley system for pull downs seated rows ect. Is you're smith machine just that or does it have a pulley and pec deck like mine? or better yet two pulleys.

I purchased this about a year ago and love it. Its not a leverage machine but has the cage with the pins for spotting. Very similar to powertec just cheaper.
