Does this look like a good piece of equipment for home use?

I'm thinking of buying this once my gym membership expires.

I already have about 500 lbs in Olympic Plates, plus a 7 ft. Chrome Bar.....so the only thing i'd need to do is assemble it.

What's wrong with keeping your gym membership? It sounds like you already have alot of equipment, but what about dumbbells, a squat rack, and all the other things a gym has to offer.

Youre absolutely right.

Well, its just that this Gym blows. they have great equipment but its always PACKED. i mean jam packed. and Hot.

im usually there for a min of 2 hrs because of waiting on people to hurry their asses along. Plus it has a pool and daycare...so the usual crowds of old men and screaming kids annoy me.

The gym is very close. Thats why i chose it. The next closest gym to that is Bally's...which is smaller and also packed...and its about double the distance to Worlds.

i dunno, im looking to avoid the crowds and get it done in half the time.

I know a gym would have more to offer...but for the price of this thing and comfort of home, im contemplating.

i just dont know anyone who owns a free-weight cage to even ask what they think of this thing....

just remember, in most cases you get what you pay for.
i would just change your schedule around so you can hit the gym when its not as busy. for example, wake up earlier so you can go before work or school or whatever the hell you do.

you should just do what me and Big_Ben did. Get a real squat cage and an adjustable bench. You can do all your lifts with just that. It has attachments for lat pulls, seated floor rows, and just add the db's and your set dude.

DO NOT DEMAND WHAT YOU CAN NOT TAKE BY FORCE!

For $230 doesn't look too bad....mine was like $600. Theres a dip station on the opposite side, and elbow slings you can't really see hooked on the pullup bar.

Actually I wish I'd gotten the Smith Machine set up, little safer if you don't have a spot.

The wood paneled wall is lined with plates!!! biggrin.gif

I love working out from home, kinda miss the gym atmosphere but I get to rock out my own music without headphones on my head and get to grunt/yell as loud as I want without any looks!! Then I walk upstairs and make my shake, take a shower and eat!!

It's also far too easy to slack off and miss workouts having a home gym.
