I'm checking out L-Dopa supplements and this particular supplement reads.....

Amount Per Serving: Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) 200mg, Mucuna pruriens extract (seeds) 2000mg[Standardized for 15% L-Dopa (L-Dihydroxyphenylalanine) (300mg)].

What does "standardized for 15% L-Dopa" mean"?? I am confused because I have also seen it say "standardized for 50%"......

It means that you're promised to be getting a specific amount of the active constituent that actually has the desired effect. A good example would be yohimbe.

A yohimbe powder, no matter what the mg. strength is, won't do anything for you unless it's standardized to contain a specific amount of yohimbine, which is the alkaloid that actually does what ppl take the product for.

The point is, there's no use taking any herbal powder unless they can prove that there's a certain amount of what makes the product work in that powder. In this case, the Macuna wouldn't do a thing for you, unless it had L-dopa in it...and at a good enough concentration to work.

Got any recommendations for L-dopa supplements from this site? I started taking this supplement here which I got through my chiropractor to increase my dopamine - https://www.neurorelief.com/index.php?optio...id=97&Itemid=47

It was really spendy....25 bucks for a 60 cap bottle and I have been taking 4 caps daily.
