Insert a large gauge pin (18 or 21) in the vial, with the tip above the surface of the oil
preheat oven to oven 200-220F
place the vial in the oven for 20 mins
transfer vial to icebox or refrigerator until cold to the touch
repeat (re-heat 20 mins, cool vial again)
one or two times.
Alternating cycles of heating and cooling kill micro-organisms more efficiently than heating alone.
If you're using a large vial (anything that will take you more than a month or so to use Id repeat the above every month, so if you've ten weeks worth of gear in
one 20ml vial then repeat the proceedure mid-cycle
It wont hurt the test
