Forgive me if i'm wrong....but wouldnt a great snack during the day be hard-boiled eggs??? At least the whites?? I started eating them with my protein shake and it's a pretty good snack. Somebody else done this with luck???

I tend to use egg beaters rather than whole eggs, but occasionally get a yen for the real thing. Try Omega-3 eggs (hens are fed flax seed to up the good fats).

I consume egg whites, cottage cheese, or a can of tuna fish with some type of carb usually in the form of fruit for a snack.

However, I usually don't consume with my protein shake but I see no reason why a person couldn't consume two sources of protein during one snack.

Diversity is a good idea not only in training but in nutrition. So, getting you protein from two different sources wouldn't be a bad idea.

How one obtains his/her nutritional requirements is up to the individual's on taste.

So, if you feel better consuming egg whites along with your protein shake then go for it.

Hope this information helps.

Good luck with your training

lol I wasn't actually implying that you mixed egg whites with your protein shake. I assumed you were eating the boiled egg whites (yolk removed) seperately.

However, you would be surprised at some people that actually mix egg whites or even tuna fish with there protein shake. YUCK lol

Different strokes for different folks.

I do mix oats with my protein shake from time to time. Thats about the extent of my imagination. tongue.gif

What I do is buy the egg whites in the carton. These are already pasteurized, so they're okay to drink. I usually drink one carton in the morning w/ my first meal.

For a snack, what I sometimes do is get an ice cube tray, spray it down w/ a little butter flavoured non-fat cooking spray, and then fill them up w/ the liquid egg whites. Throw these in the microwave for a couple minutes, and voila! you have cooked egg whites in cubes to snack on throughout the day...

"Nobody said it would be easy..."
