What kind of running? Distance or sprints, I can see advantages though.

If you do decide to take it, you want cee so theres less water retention.

Im going to take it during football if thats any help.

sprints, we're into our competition phase of our training, however we're still doing a lot of lifting and some fairly difficult workouts

Not trying to be critical, just wondering where you may have see evidence that there is less water retention with CEE? There are no clinicals on it as far as I have seen. Is this more testimonial from your experience?

From my experience, if you are still training hard and can feel the recovery/strength benefits from creatine, I would recommend taking 3-5g post workouts and only on workout days. Make sure you stay hydrated as well.

Even when I used to take 7g a day of CEE I never got bloated or looked puffy. Ive never taken monohydrate so I cant directly compare though.

I believe in all the studies on creatine monohydrate, bloat was not an issue.

Placebo and hype perhaps?

I think the issue with bloating is more related to creatine purity or possibly the loading phase amount. 20-25g creatine per day for 5 days straight can cause some GI discomfort. I do not recommend a loading phase with Creatine mono, just take it post weight training and only then. I know of one study that compared the difference of loading vs non loading and found out that the cells get saturated faster with loading, but after 21 days of taking creatine with no load, cells were equally saturated as loadng phase. Oh and no GI distress.

I was a hardcore mt biker (3 40-60 mile hard rides a week, plus workouts and a run or two).I took creatine, and it helped me keep muscle strength and mass for sure, though I don't think it directly helped me during, say, a climb. Creatine mono is fine, but Orotine would be best for you (far better than CEE), the orotates help immensely with endurance and speed.

Citrulline malate would help you a lot, too. Also try Revenge pro, VERY under-rated stuff. Also MRM Driven.

If you take creatine in season drink ALOT of water, and for brad i wouldnt suggest taking it during your camp(2 or 3 practices a day where its nearly impossible to stay hydrated as it is)
