I've always been an ardant
Muscle Milk proponent. In terms of taste, absorption, and healthy fat content,
Muscle Milk was one of the few good mass gainers to use on a bulk cycle (with obvious addition of extra
protein/carbs). The best quality of
Muscle Milk was, hands down, the taste. This coupled with high insulin mobilization and easy
digestion allowed users to ingest 3-4 shakes a day to compliment a high calorie intake and produce very lean gains on a bulk cycle. The downfalls of
Muscle Milk, however, was its high saturated fat content, and low
protein content.
It was only a matter of time before a company came along to equal, if not surpass,
Muscle Milk in terms of taste and content. I believe
Mass Meal has reached that mark, and in doing so, set a new standard.
Compared to
Muscle Milk, Ergopharms
Mass Meal has a marginally higher
protein content (34 grams compared to Muscle Milks 32). Whereas
Muscle Milk had 8 grams of saturated fat,
Mass Meal has 1.5 grams. The best quality of
Mass Meal is its high unsaturated fat content (10 grams). This is good for bodybuilders because unsaturated (be it poly or mono) fats lower total cholesterol, lower LDL, and raise HDL. This can be extremely important during, or following, anabolic cycles.
Mass Meal also contains a much higher carbohydrate content (25 grams compared with 12 grams from
Muscle Milk). This is obviously wanted in eliciting an insulin spike which facilitates the movement of
protein into muscle cell's - i.e. muscular hypertrophy.
In terms of taste,
Mass Meal equal's if not surpasses
Muscle Milk. Being that
Mass Meal is produced by
Ergopharm, I think it's safe to assume the ingredients are as listed, and the quality top knotch. This will definitely be a staple of mine for some time to come.
