When exactly should I take my carbs and when should I cut them off?

And when should I take in my protein and when should I my protein off?

You should take both of them throughout the day.

If you're asking when is the best time to take in carbs, then I would have to say right after a workout and the 3 hours after that. For example, immediately following a workout I have a whey/maltodextrin/dextrose shake. THen about an hour to an hour and a half I have a big carb and protein meal.

As shpongled has already said, protein should be taken through out the day.

The most important time to take carbs is pre workout and post workout try to get 70-90 grams mixed carbs (100-150 for hardgainers) pre workout with 20-40 grams of protein

Immediately after workout go for a three to one carb to protein ratio meaning if you take 40 grams of protein go for 120 carbs

Try to consume at least 35 grams of protein evey 2-3 hours your awake and before bed take a slow desolving protein to keep you while you sleep

As for carbs go for 55% of you daily calories to come from carbs for a 200 lb bodybuilder that equals 481 carbs a day and try to spread them evenly with your meals throughout the day with the most coming pre and post workout as i stated earlier.

Hope this helps you out smile.gif
